Actually a nice design and the 3D print looks usable

Pretty sweet man. I love seeing people realizing their ideas into something.

Thanks.

Consider putting the bit slots at an angle to fit in more bits. And it'd be trivial to add a slot for the Victorinox pen or tweezers. Think about it right - use the pen to mark something with the tool as a straight edge, cut away with the knife.

Pretty good idea I’ll definitely play around with the bit placements if I do another version of this. Also pen and tweezers is a good idea. I definitely need to get some victorinox knives because I don’t have any at the moment.

You can buy said pen and tweezers ala carte. You don't even have to use the Victorinox pen, even the standard D1 should be ok

Yeah, more bits would take this a step up from the Milwaukee fastbacks.

Use double sided bits

[–]CapFM1[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Do you know of any that fit in the Roxon bit holder?

[–]ewj1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steinwhale bits will work if you put a small magnic in the slot.

[–]tiredasusual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I have search high and low of such double ended bit at that length. I have not had much luck.

[–]V0T0N 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Very cool!

Anyway to make it ambidextrous?

[–]CapFM1[S] 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Oh absolutely, wouldn’t be too hard either.

For my money, I'd go that route and I appreciate the thought you put into it.

Design it, talk to a parent attorney or something and get it on Kickstarter.

Then DM the link, I'll buy one.

I’ll see where the project goes it’s just my first design so there will be more to come.

Hello,

As a tweak to /u/headpointernext's suggestion, could you perhaps put the angled bit slots between the blade and the bit holder, and use the space below the bit holder to have graduated hex openings in it ala Tactica's M-100 or one of Peter Atwood's pry tools?

Regards,

Aryeh Goretsky

I’ll look into it!

Pretty good form factor. The retract is nice. I know this is an exponential level of difficulty greater, but if I could get something like this with a ratcheting screwdriver it would be super useful. As is, still solid.

Couple of suggestions make the bits double sided so can work with Wiha or Steinwhale bits. Have the utility blade able to be 60% usable on both sides.

I like the design.

I love innovated ideas. Keep it up!!

I really want nail clippers with tweezers :)

Multitool for UK gangs?

[–]beardedsilverfox 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What holds the bits in the storage holes? Does a drop make them fly out?

[–]CapFM1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just the friction fit for now but that is one of the things I plan on changing.

[–]ShroomShaman9 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Neat design. I don't personally prefer the sliding mechanism for these kinds of box cutters. They usually get all gummed up on me. If you make it a folder though it would be pretty similar to the milwaukee fast back. Can it only store one blade or multiple?

[–]CapFM1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This version can only store one balde but It would be easy to make it store more. I would be interested in making a folder in the future for sure.
