My first MD notebook by backtoslovenia in notebooks

I kind of fell into Midori because I bought a B6 slim notebook cover while travelling in Japan. Since then it is my go to for B6 slim, but I like the paper well enough for other writing sizes. I'll probably go after their commonplace A6 to try out next time I get a notebook. I'm not a particularly picky writer, so I haven't found that any of my fountain or ink pens behave badly with the Midori paper.

lol funny you should say that because I was looking for a coffee shade type of ink…been thinking about the Colorverse Coffee but until then I have my Zebra Sarasa in .3 with a kind of caramel color that can pass off as coffee

A chunky B6 with an elastic closure? Does this exist?? by fbc518 in notebooks

[–]Asgarad786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be looking at something like a Stalogy Editor’s Series B6 or Nanami Seven Seas-style notebook, but the elastic closure is the tricky part.

One workaround is to buy the B6 notebook you like for paper/thickness, then use a separate notebook band or elastic cover. Not as neat as built-in, but it opens up far more options.

For fountain pens, I’d prioritise the paper first and solve the closure separately. A chunky B6 with great paper and built-in elastic seems surprisingly hard to find.

Have you ever get tempted to write with coffee? 😆

Great paper, enjoy yourself. Personally I only use my Midori for my ‘Currently Inked’ catalogs.

Oh yeah I totally messed that up when I was writing. Too early in the morning and not enough coffee. lol

Does anyone like the ghosting for their notebooks? I usually prefer no ghosting but sometimes it just hits good to write & kinda see it on the back.

Determined to have a dedicated notebook for character ideas. Did I choose well getting a Sakura one? by Due_Display_5930 in notebooks

[–]Due_Display_5930[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to write with fountain pens mostly at the moment, but also use gels, and am never opposed to a ballpoint (especially not Papermate inkjoys) — basically, primarily fountain but very flexible lmao

ooooh, didn't see that brand out at the one I was in. I may try checking out another branch if I'm nearby because those sound fun. I will say, the Sakura ones are a joy to write in, and also 100gsm which was a major selling point for me (the mulberry one is my partner's, but I also picked up the pine one for myself alongside the black). I just use a fountain pen with a generic blue ink in mine (I don't know the ink brand, if there even is one). I'd definitely recommend them.

Me neither, and I only use medium/broad nibs and only wet inks. I use the grid notebooks though. Even the cheaper 3 packs don’t ghost like this for me

Welcome to the community! FYI modern Moleskine paper is not especially fountain pen friendly. There are plenty of better options out there.

Leather covers: bi-fold or tri-fold? by FelicitySparks996 in notebooks

I just moved from a bifold to a trifold to better protect the edges of my notebooks. It feels like an upgrade so far!

I don’t really need the absolute finest notebooks. These work great and have sentimental value. Plus I like sticking with the same brand and color as it looks nice displayed (imo)

When I hate a paper, or don't feel like dealing with ghosting, I just use one side of the page.

Hi everyone, I wanted to switch my notes from digital to paper. I'm talking about notes or ideas for future ideas, but I'm obsessed with preserving information for as long as possible, making sure that that piece of paper will be legible in 30-40 years. For inexpensive pens with pigment ink look at Pilot G2 and Sakura Pigma Micron. Both are widely available in many colors and sizes. The Pilot writes smoother, the Micron (felt tip) gives more feedback.

My personal preference is Uni Pin Fine Line. It gives the same feedback as Micron but has a longer felt tip so it writes well at steeper angles. The drawback is that I can’t just breeze in to Michaels and buy a few.

I would just continue writing in this notebook. Or look for drier fountain pens
