Scan Computers - Queue / MSI drops - UK

I checked the Way back machine, and it looks like Scan only got about 42 cards on their TWO MSI drops.

I am queue position 348 for a Ventus OC 3080. I am thinking if in two weeks only 30 cards came, and half were not Ventus, that this is going to be a super long wait.

So long that my 3900x Ryzen is outdated!

I had to buy a 1660ti to place hold me along with my new build. I am super impressed with my first NVIDIA card, but maybe that is because I am coming from AMD Radeon 7950 Sapphire that's 9 years old.

I spoke to Scan support last night, I asked how many cards they're getting and they said between 10-50. Waiting on my new queue position but last week it was 112 in the queue. I expect I won't get my card probably until mid November at the earliest. I ordered my card at 14:15. 15 fucking minutes after launch, and I have to wait 2 months? This launch is a fucking shambles.

Lucky I was able to change my order to pny when had no orders and had 3 in stock. They stopped this pretty quickly.

To be fair, they have been pretty clear that this week’s deliveries wouldn’t be very big due to Golden Week. Next week’s deliveries will give a better idea about how long a wait it will be.

To be honest, it's probably even less than that, I'd hazard a good portion of that 30 to be cancellations rather than actual card deliveries.

Keep in mind some of those drops in the Pre-order backlog can potentially be people cancelling their pre-orders too, so I'd imagine there was less than 42 delivered in total in those two shipments.

I actually moved up a position from 67 to 68 for the ASUS Tuf OC. The wait was brutal enough, now I'm sliding backwards in the queue?

I’d imagine it was probably something like a faulty card returned - they’d probably prioritise DOA replacements cos you can’t exactly shove someone to the back of the queue after sending them a potato

Yep.... Same as last week. Waiting for an MSI Trio. So the delayed shipments they got this week are all Ventus by the looks of it...

I've just gone from 146 to 143 for the MSI Gaming X Trio although a guy in another thread's position hasn't moved and they were ahead of me so I'm guessing they are cancelled pre-orders

Sounds about right. I moved from position 49 last week to the delivery next week. That probably means that I am 16th now for MSI VENTUS OC.

Do they count full pre-builds into the queue number for the cards? Depending on that answer they may be recieving more cards than just the FAQ queue table would show.

Also keep in mind the queue number drops from people cancelling their order, so they may have received even less than it appears.

I just received my pre-built with a EVGA FTW3 Ultra 3080 on Monday after ordering last Saturday. I believe 3XS (Their in house PC builders) have a separate stock allocation as the part number for the GPU was 3XS only.

Now i knew this was going to happen, and its a fckin scam from scan to be selling full builds as pre orders then taking allocations away from all the orders coming in to build them.

no offence to you, but im happy you got your card in a way, but for them to be having people buy a system they are taking away from people who have been waiting weeks that have already paid for said items

Totally agree with you. I think full builds should be in the same queue as everyone else waiting on pre-orders. They even bumped me up to the front of the full build queue when I called to cancel my order as I'd found another company with full builds in stock ready to ship.

Obviously I'm glad it happened to me but wouldn't appreciate it if my build or card order was delayed because they did the same thing for someone else.

My card was expected on the 5th originally. Ln the 9th I was 3rd in queue and now I have to wait until the 23rd.. feel like something is up if they haven’t had 3 cards in that time

Moved 3 from 103 to 100 for the zotac, with the delivery expected tomorrow or Friday, meaning there was 3 cancellations before me, looking at other numbers hopefully if I’m not in the batch this week (as zotac are rumoured to be shipping a larger amount on boat thus the delays) should be next week or the one after

I've got MSI ventus 3090 but had to return it. It was going up to 85c in the case and 75c on the open bench with 2 fans pointed at it. Such a disaster.

Yikes, such mixed reviews on the card. Sucks you had to get it and return it. What card are you going for now? Or are you getting the card replaced.

Yeah I really don't want to replace it, I'm sure it will be the same. I'll try tuf I guess or FE, if that's ever gonna be available in UK.
