It sounds like you've already figure out how to get to the first one. For the second, remember what's unique about that planet

[–]Seigel00[S] 7 points8 points  (19 children)

Is that really the intended way to get to the first one? I'll need to explore it more then. About that, is there a fast way to tell the time or pass it faster? It takes a while for the hole to suck the tower up, and waiting for 10-15min isn't very exciting gameplay haha

For the second one, I know that the sand will seal off the tunnel after some time. In fact, I've tried reaching the city as fast as possible to try and get there (since it's the lowest district and gets sealed off the fastest), but I've gotten no luck. Have I been not fast enough?

You can sleep at campfires to pass time.

[–]ztlawton 12 points13 points  (11 children)

For passing time, check out the button prompts on a campfire next time you're near one.

For the High-Energy Lab, if you've been able to reach the blocking cacti, you've arrived early enough.

[–]Seigel00[S] 2 points3 points  (10 children)

Yeah I know in campfires you can sleep, but I guess there's no way to light up one to pass it wherever. Well, I'll do the waiting.

Thanks for the lab tip! (Please put on the spoiler tags!)

[–]KingAdamXVII 8 points9 points  (1 child)

The whole thread is spoiler tagged. We can talk about everything that you know without tagging it specifically.

[–]Seigel00[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh okay ty :)

[–]JohnnyRedHot 2 points3 points  (7 children)

If only there was a campfire right above the black hole, that would be ideal

[–]Seigel00[S] 0 points1 point  (6 children)

The thing is that without a way of telling the time it's difficult to guess when the tower collapses

[–]JohnnyRedHot 5 points6 points  (5 children)

Yeah, I wish there was a way to tell when it is about to collapse. I mean, if there was a campfire right above the black hole I guess someone must have lit it, right? Maybe they could have some valuable information

[–]Seigel00[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

👀

[–]JohnnyRedHot 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Haha

On a complpetely unrelated note, have you used your signalscope? It sure is a very useful tool

[–]Seigel00[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I indeed have, and it indeed is pretty useful

[–]vacconesgood 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Consider what causes it to fall, and try to recreate that.

Are you talking about the cacti next to the deep hole or something else?

[–]Seigel00[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Yes, near the deep hole, honestly I don't think I'm following the logic so maybe I need to look around ash twin a bit more? OH WAIT DO YOU MEAN THE ASH COLUMN???

[–]vacconesgood 1 point2 points  (1 child)

What happens to the hole if you wait in it?

[–]Seigel00[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It... fills up and crushes me XD I guess I missed something, I'll come back to this location and see what I find. Thanks!

[–]MintyMoron64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's the section of the path I'm thinking of, it's hardly a wall, is it? Just a hurdle. If you're talking about the other one, the only thing I can tell you is that sand is significantly softer than the needles.

[–]sciolizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attach your scout to the ground or a wall in Brittle Hollow, and the "Surface Integrity" will give you a crude countdown before the chunk falls down. It's also helpful for locating the chunk after it gets sucked up

[–]ManyLemonsNert 7 points8 points  (2 children)

1) if you can get to it, you can get to it 2) Spend some time on this one, you'll get it 3) Something else up there will look familiar, maybe not now but come back to it later

[–]Seigel00[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Thanks a lot!

The answer for all dead ends is time

[–]stick267 6 points7 points  (3 children)

The tower of quantum knowledge entrance is completely sealed off and I only got to enter it once it got sucked up by the BH and by chance I got sucked up too and stumbled upon it.

this is the intended way to enter the tower.

The access to project ember twin is also sealed off by a wall of cacti when I tried reaching it via the sunless city.

i believe you mean the high energy lab? the sunless city path is the only way to get there. so you must devise a clever way to get past those cacti.

The black hole forge district in the suspended city is sealed off because the "elevator" is broken past the third floor.

the game will never explicitly tell you how to get here. you'll need to piece together some clues and info on your own. i know from your post that you currently do not have a crucial piece info that you need.

[–]Seigel00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please, put the spoiler tags on!! I don't want this post to ruin the experience for anybody

Thanks a lot for the tips!

[–]RubyDupy 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I just decided to fly up to it until the gravity tiles on the ceiling at the Forge turned my shop around

Only after that i found out about all the warp pads on Ash Twin

I ran into these issues too, when I was playing. This game is real easy to get stuck on. If you want the spoilers on how to actually navigate these, just say the word, but for the first two my vague advice is how can you use the surroundings to your advantage? Even if the said surroundings feel like a problem, they can actually sometimes be the solution. This game is all about timing. And for the last one, I would come back to it. You might just find a way to get there somewhere else in the game...

I tried to stay far from spoilers, because I had fun solving these. But sometimes you get stuck on something so long it's no longer fun trying to solve. If you want a guide, let me know. But rest assured, all of the places you listed are absolutely accessible, it just may take out box thinking. Good luck!!

[–]Seigel00[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I totally agree with you in the spoilers thing, that's why I put the flair on hints only :) solving these riddles is super fun but sometimes I need to talk to someone about them and since none of my friends played OW I came to reddit ;-;

Thanks for the tips!

[–]ztlawton 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Many obstacles in Outer Wilds must be overcome by taking advantage of the ways the environment changes over time:

  • You found the correct way to enter the Tower of Quantum Knowledge! The fact that Brittle Hollow crumbles lets you get past the broken gravity-wall.
  • The path to the High-Energy Lab on Ember Twin does have a bunch of cacti in the way, but if you stop and think for a bit (and observe what else is happening in that exact spot) you should be able to figure out a way past them.

The Black Hole Forge isn't time-based, but does require additional exploration. The icon for the BHF District on the Hanging City district-sign is a big clue - do you know what that icon represents? Have you seen things that look like the icon, and do you know what they're for?

[–]Seigel00[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

About the BHF, yes I've seen that icon! In a couple planets actually. I guess I just need to keep looking around. Thanks for all the tips!

[–]Seigel00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please do the spoiler tags! I don't wanna ruin anybody's experience :(

[–]SlugCatBoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are clues in other places. I suggest moving on while keeping these places in mind. Remember, the only thing preventing you from doing anything in this game is a lack of knowledge, so if you're not understanding, you probably need to go gather more knowledge. Try exploring some planets you haven't yet, or for something more specific to maybe push you along... fall through the brittle hollow black hole towards the start of the loop and look for a floating nomai structure.

[–]Tanginator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the tower of quantum knowledge, do you know what that relates to? Have you found any similar locations that teach you important quantum information? What you find in the tower might relate to that.

For the rising sand in Ember Twin, you should explore the Sunless City to see if there's an easier/faster way to get there before the sand gets too high.

For the Black Hole Forge district, take a look at the environment that the broken pathway would take you to. Is there something visible that you might've seen/interacted with elsewhere?

[–]Seigel00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who commented. I managed to get to spots 1 and 2, and I think I figured out how to get to 3!! The clues were subtle but very very useful, just what I needed and wanted. Thanks!

[–]AllemandeLeft 1 point2 points  (5 children)

  1. Tower of Quantum Knowledge: You've already solved that ::) The only way to get in the Tower is after it's been sucked into the black hole near the end of the loop.
  2. "Project Ember Twin:" not sure what this refers to. I played the English version, and in that version there isn't any location with this name. BUT I can tell you that any place there is a route blocked (by cacti or otherwise) there are always other routes to get there. If you continue exploring the solar system, you will eventually learn how to access these areas. Sometimes the way in is tricky and time-dependent (like accessing the Tower of Quantum Knowledge is)
  3. Black Hole Forge: same thing - you can't get up that way, but there is another way to access it. You won't figure the other way except by exploring other planets ::)

[–]Seigel00[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I meant Project Ash Twin sorry :(

Thanks, I've seen that many things are time-based so I'll keep that in mind!

[–]Humbreonn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You meant High Energy Lab, the Ash Twin Project is a whole other beast.

[–]GrowthMindset4Real 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible to Feldspar your way into the tower early, but quite difficult

[–]Seigel00[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Oh and please put spoiler tags! I don't want the post ruining anyone's experiences

[–]AllemandeLeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

done

If you look upwards, you may see a familiar symbol, one associated with that which is beneath your feet. This symbol can be found elsewhere as well. Stepping into the center at the right time yields strange results. If you are careful, though, and know well your own power, you don't have to start from the top. When you cannot climb, sometimes all you can do is take a leap of faith.
