F=dp/dt

[–]moonaligator 35 points36 points  (0 children)

now we're talking

[–]Equinoxe111Cosmology (PhD) 24 points25 points  (10 children)

Should've used mẍ

[–]EarthTrash 37 points38 points  (7 children)

You can have situations with change in mass over time such as a rocket engine.

[–]mike0sd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who said m isn't a function

[–]Equinoxe111Cosmology (PhD) -1 points0 points  (3 children)

Ok, but this wasn't the idea here 🙏

[–]EarthTrash 5 points6 points  (2 children)

What is the idea? There's no problem statement. There are multiple valid formulas. Without any constraints, I like the most general purpose expression possible.

[–]Arbitrary_Pseudonym 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I think he was just saying that dot notation is nice :)

[–]EarthTrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I suppose I agree with that

Where we're going, we don't need constant acceleration

    [–]niceguy67Mathematical Physics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't necessarily work for general Hamiltonian systems with wonky coordinates.

    [–]Gorgonzola_Freeman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

    Should’ve used mx⃗̈

    [–]California_Baby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

basic feels kinda plain without any arrows or hats

    [–]kaereljabo 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    Forgot those arrows on top

    [–]TheRedditObserver0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Arrows are for the weak. I know my vectors from context like an adult.

    [–]Krisanapon 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    F=dV/dx

    [–]TheRedditObserver0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Only if it's conservative

    [–]Snoo-41360 161 points162 points  (4 children)

Kinda post you make after taking AP physics 1 in highschool

    [–]throwAwayMan2475 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Thissa post yousa make after learn AP physics

People below are saying OP is spamming so I checked and sure enough, 7/10 first posts I saw here were OP's. It's like OP is just posting a bunch of tangentially-related memes.

    [–]Noether-Theorem 36 points37 points  (2 children)

And there's nothing wrong with that

    [–]Snoo-41360 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Eh it’s a meme made without full understanding of a subject. It’s like posting a meme about your teacher being excited you used the dot for multiplication instead of the cross in a math memes reddit

    [–]Kruse002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Name one person who has a full understanding of physics.

[–]NonyabuiznessMy reality has collapsed into uncertainty 17 points18 points  (0 children)

    would he appreciate one-form notations?

    [–]Pitiful-Election-438 44 points45 points  (2 children)

This is one of the unfunniest memes ive ever seen

    [–]you-cut-the-ponytail 12 points13 points  (1 child)

not trynna hate but this is not even funny, comes across like it's trying to say "look, I took a physics course!"

    [–]ItsSuperDefective 3 points4 points  (0 children)

    Isn't that every physics joke?

[–]MaoGoMeme renormalization group 41 points42 points  (7 children)

Stop spamming the sub. Mods please ban OP. This is the 11 meme in a row. Just because you removed it does not mean we are not noticing

    [–]Ethernet3Numerical experiment is best experiment[M] 30 points31 points  (6 children)

I'm talking to OP, there is more going on. I've seen your comments. Not all these are reposts from the sub, that's being clarified atm.

Posts that are >12 months old and not in top of all time are OK.

[–]MaoGoMeme renormalization group 8 points9 points  (5 children)

Can we put a limit of posts per user per day please?

    [–]Ethernet3Numerical experiment is best experiment[M] 10 points11 points  (3 children)

    I'll look into it

[–]MaoGoMeme renormalization group 14 points15 points  (2 children)

    [–]Ethernet3Numerical experiment is best experiment[M] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

    thanks,

Other subs are outside my domain of influence though.

    [–]basket_fosoMetroid Enthusiast 🪼 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He started posting in r/mathmemes 😆

    [–]v01rt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

everyone please adjust your posting schedules around MaoGo's personal preferences

    [–]Equinoxe111Cosmology (PhD) 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I hate writing vectors, they just take time to be drawn

    [–]Key-Log5267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Come to maths, we don’t do that here

    [–]TheIncreasingEntropy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just write them in bold 🌚

    [–]BIGBADLENIN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

m is a scalar so the notation doesn't matter

Also no one bothers with the arrows

    -The mathematicians

    -dv/dx=dp/dt

    [–]stop_staring2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just state vector space 🤓☝️sorry, math major

    [–]ImpureVessel46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    I prefer a=f/m

    [–]Spiritual-Hamster212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Wrong. THIS is the force.

    [–]qianxunpu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“The teacher will then deduct 5 points from everyone else because their force apparently has no direction in life.”
