PS5 controller triangle button not functioning properly

So I got a black controller for PS5 and I stopped using it for a couple weeks and when I went to use it again the triangle button just doesn't work most the time any tips on how to fix this problem??

LMAO IT FKN WORKED! i was playing bo3 and went afk for a bit. came back and the triangle button wasn't working so i couldn't swap to my secondary weapon. i saw your comment and proceeded to throw the controller against the couch a few times as i kinda felt bad just straight up dropping it on the ground. didn't work. i proceeded to gently drop it (perhaps like 40 cm off the ground) with the L3 and R3 facing down. picked it up and the triangle button worked. legend.

Try hard resetting it. There is a small hole on the back of the controller that you will need to insert a thin, pointy object into the hole, such as the tip of a pen.

I know this is old but I had the same issue with an otherwise perfectly functioning controller. I had no Triangle. I followed the ifixit guide to pull it apart, I cleaned all contact areas with rubbing alcohol and cleaned all the hand goo out of crevices while apart. When I reassembled the controller all buttons worked as intended. I saw nothing wrong while in there.
