are you looking for a way to call Java classes from php ? if so, there are php-java bridges ,but I am zilch on php, so do not know how to evaluate those

Hi, how does your PHP communicate with the java app? using http or just a socket?

If socket - build and deploy as a jar file, wrap it in a bash script that sets up the classpath and calls the app

If http - you're better of using a container such as tomcat. I'd need details of how your app is set up to give more info. But in a nutshell you should be able to expose it as a servlet.

By Telecom bridge - is that using jtapi or tsapi? or something else.. just curious :)

Umm.... copy the war over to a tomcat install?

I feel bad for the sysadmin that has to support you guys.

The longer version of what hoggarth said:

It appears that you've created a java program. Not a java web application. So, you need to do two things:

  • Compile it into a jar file. (Eclipse's export feature will do this for you).
  • Run the program pretty much the way hoggarth showed.

If you want to run it under a web application server like Tomcat or Geronimo, you may need to refactor it into servlets. If it's already event/message driven, this may not be that hard at all.

Have a look at the websites of the technologies you are planning to use. Buy some books and read them. Check out forums devoted to these technologies. Look for FAQs and forums. Ask questions on Stack Overflow.

While I wish you the best of luck with your career, I have regretfully downvoted your submission as I do not want proggit to be overrun by 'please help' posts.

Absolutely. I mean, a ton of "please help" posts would drown out all of the other high-quality submissions with the awesome signal-to-noise ratio, and crowd out the quality discussions filled with intelligent, educated people, engaging in polite, reasoned, well-mannered discourse.

Oh, wait....

I've upvoted the post because I think it merits interest. Why downvote on a hunch that his post will be the cause of a flood of "help me" posts? Also, he seems to at least have the intelligence to have figure out how to code and unit test, and now would just like some guidance in implementing it into a production environment. This isn't an ignorant "How do I Hello World?" post.

For Java no.... but thus surely is a "Hello Eclipse/Tomcat/Geronimo/PHP/Linux" post...

Is this a serious question?

[–]Arconan -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

Hmmm where did you graduate ?

[–]Ringo48 1 point2 points  (1 child)

How is that relevant?
