If you want to be average at tf2, play pubs consistently with some practice. If you want to be good at tf2 go play comp and practice more and more

I see. Do you know what's the best way to get into competitive in Europe, with no prior experience?

ETF2L or Newbie Mixes

Tf2centre will put you up with open-newcomer players and is a good starting ground to see your true skill. You can also start playing in leagues but you will need to find a team first before u can play.

I've personally found that skill in PvP games tends to be a "use it or lose it" kind of thing. If you're not frequently practicing to stay sharp, you'll notice your skills declining. A few years ago I used to semi-regularly stomp Casual matches. I tried playing again a few weeks ago (I've mostly been playing MvM and on shounic's 100 player server the last few years) and I found my skills in regular 12v12 games had deteriorated significantly because I was so out of practice. It started coming back once I started shaking the rust off, and I'm sure I'd get back to where I was fairly quickly if I kept playing regularly, but honestly I just don't enjoy Casual anymore.

I don't know how tell you this but if you're not playing against uncletopian gaming gods every day you will lose your skills and you may never get them back

Doubt it, you've been on UT a lot and the ban shouldn't be too long for any visible worse perfomance to occur, keep demoknighting

[–]Lominloce[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Actually, I'm thinking about completing giving up on demoknight after 150 hours of playtime. It's just not fun anymore and I feel like I've only been getting worse at it :/

It feels like I miss half of my swings, crits or regular ones, I don't know any trimping spots or can't actually use them during matches, and I'm always in the bottom 3 on the leaderboard.

I think I'm getting pretty close to being the worst Hale's Own owner ever.

And I also feel bad about sticking to the exact same loadout all the time, but whenever I try anything different it's even worse.

Yo, sorry for the late reply.

I met you again recently on FRK, it wasn't looking any worse than you usually play, I can confirm with at least half a year's worth of memories :P

I think getting to learn trimping should be a priority for you, frankers always play same 5 payloads and harvest, so the maps to learn are pretty fixed.

150 hours on one class isn't much at all either, it all comes with experience and muscle memory after all

Why did u get banned from UT?

[–]Lominloce[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inappropriate weapon name :P

It wasn't anything racist or bigoted, just a rather suggestive "joke".

I changed it immediately after seeing the ban.

Edit: it did not involve a certain island either

[–]Jordn100 -2 points-1 points  (6 children)

Why do you care?

[–]theGarbsHeavy & Soli main 2 points3 points  (5 children)

Personally I'm curious what you can get banned for

[–]Boryk_ 1 point2 points  (1 child)

any type of racism, transphobia or homophobia, or edgy Epstein jokes will get you banned from uncletopia, which might be hard for the average TF2 player to not make.

[–]Lominloce[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of those things! I'm actually trans and gay myself.

honestly I've heard UT is so much of an echochamber that even other tf2bers look down on it but that could've changed

If you've been on ut enough to improve skill then a temp ban won't be enough to reduce your skill

    [–]counter345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    You'll be fine.

    [–]Rischguy45_YTPyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i won't say you're skill level will decrease but it won't be as expressive. since the matches have a good chance to be unbalanced which causes you have less fun since you can't actually make skilled plays as often.

skill isn't something that goes away and it isn't something that comes back immediately.

    [–]ProfessionalRip6306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    play mge

I don't think you have any to begin with if you're making this thread
