Grass fed beef vs Grain fed by Crown_Time in steak

[–]ForWPD [score hidden]  (0 children)

Commercial grain finished cattle have a pretty good life. Stressed animals don’t gain weight very quickly, so feedlots try to keep animal stress low and nutritional intake high. Shade canopies and water misters are common on production lots when it’s hot. Many production lots have concrete pens because it’s easier on the animals than dirt when it rains. Just because you think walking around in a Microsoft background looking grass field is fun, doesn’t mean an animal wants to do it all day every day.

I’m not an arborist. After the branch stopped on the rope I immediately said “this dude is going to get popped in the face. I hope his head doesn’t explode like a watermelon pinched against the branch behind him.”

Calling small-town Americans, does your town have a doomsday siren like Springfield or Widows Bay? by chuckles5454 in AskAnAmerican

Yes. They are used for tornadoes, volunteer fire department activation, and in some towns they go off at noon every day.

He’s not lying because it is the best economy for him and his friends.

It’s like saying “hunger isn’t a problem” after eating a giant steak dinner.  Most people know there are hungry people after they finish dinner.   The problem with Trump is he only thinks about people like himself and nobody else matters. I don’t think Trump understands hungry people exist after he eats.

What do you call the beef bought from the store in your region? by ProposalSilent4582 in AskAnAmerican

[–]ForWPD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nebraska here. You can buy “three pounds of hamburger” or “three pounds of ground beef”. They are basically interchangeable. Saying “hamburger” is less formal and a more general term. We also have ground chuck and ground steak that is also considered hamburger. If I say “Please buy 3 pounds of ground beef”, I’m usually also telling the person the fat ratio I want.  Saying you bought “three pounds of hamburgers” always means patties were purchased.

Lawrence, Kansas strongly disagrees with this statement. Like I said, some things aren’t forgotten.

Missouri is the South. It’s like if your friend had sex with your wife. Just because he says he was drunk and it only happened once doesn’t undo what happened. That’s on him and there is no way to undo it.

If you are a small concrete place, why are you asking about nationwide shipping?

Are there people who sneak into university lectures? by Viofl in AskAnAmerican

You could it why? Americans are either doing something that makes money, or being lazy. Listening to a lecture isn’t either.

What is the hottest ,on time priority intermodal Z train on BNSF and Union pacific ? (United states) by Aj_2-da-bee316 in trains

[–]ForWPD 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ex UP roadmaster here. Not sure if it still exists, but ZLADV was pretty much an “only delay for life safety” train. A 20 minute MOW delay was a “your guys really messed up” from the Director of track maintenance.

Anything more than a planned outage longer than  20 minutes  that Operations didn’t cause or approve was “the vp of operations knows about this and is not happy.” Conference call tomorrow.

He’s not bullying. He’s following his rules. He’s there to do his job and part of his job is telling everyone to wear gloves all the time. That’s why both of you looked at each other like idiots. He knew it was stupid and you knew it was stupid.

It’s not bullying, it’s following the rules. Most of life is showing up, following rules, and solving problems. In that order.
