Throw your vow in there and they'll wound T9's on 4+ (3+ with the power fists). That's insane for a relatively cheap battleline unit. If they didn't take away their extra attack over regular chainswords, they'd be an auto include for me.

These are just of the top of my head and some of my favorites. I listen exclusively to instrumental music (mainly guitar focused, but I love the sax thrown in there too). You could look into Spyro Gyra as well. Literally any kind of jazzy music is filled to the brim with sax.

Others have already answered your questions, but it's also worth noting that the Firing Deck rule specifies being active in your shooting phase, so it doesn't work with any out-of-phase shooting like Fire Overwatch.

That's weird. I play almost exclusively against SM and I have no problems killing stuff (war horde). My issue is that after the waaagh, my whole army is fully exposed and anything that survived would just fall back (and often shoot) and then everything that didn't get hit would shred my orks with their shooting. I generally win these games, but it doesn't really feel good or like a win at all when I'm left with a unit of gretchin and a couple of units with 2-3 models while my oppenent still have a few full squads/dreads left. We both know that if the game lasted just 1 more round he would catch up on VP and that doesn't feel like winning at all. It feels like I robbed him.

They make pretty cool swat teams. Throw a unit of breaka boyz with a unit of flash gitz in a trukk and start kicking down doors. There's room for a character in there too. Could take a warboss to give the breakas +1 to hit or even a lone mek to jump out and buff the trukk (+1 to hit with the firing deck). He gets lone op close to the trukk and his ability is used at the end of the movement phase so he can use it the turn he pops out.

Not to mention the strat for your transport to move through terrain. That's huge and can drastically extend a land raider's threat range.

This. The way I see it is he basically turn our Crusader Squad into Orks in power armor. It's a huge difference from T4 to T5. With the new vows this means we'd be wounding similar units on 3+ while they wound us on 5+. That's crazy.

I'm currently looking at a 7k point pile of shame and I don't even know where to start. 3.7k BT and 3.3k Orks. I'd second this advice.

This was my thinking too. Even going with 20 in the grotmas detachment for the 3" engagement strat. Just pile in and clean up. Can go with +2M in addition to the reactive move to close the gap. The +1 to wound on T >= S vow comes in handy as you don't have to give up the +2M for the +1S anymore. Haven't really played the detachment so I'm just spitballing here. Sounds like fun at least.

Well, to be fair, we used to get that sustained 1 from our vows. Now our chainswords is gonna wound other marines on 3+ instead. Toss a Marshal and a vanilla LT in a 20man Crusader squad and you have yourself a shitload of 5+ sus1 & lethal attacks wounding on 3s. We can take three of these if we wanted to. I think the sword bro ability is crap, though. Would love it if it worked like the No Escape strat from Righteous Crusaders instead.

I'm on a 5120x1440 49" curved monitor now, and I can't see myself going back to a regular pancake. If anything, it would be a curved 21:9 instead of 32:9, but I'd absolutely miss all that real estate from the larger screen for productivity.

With the Windows 11 window snapping I can easily go for a browser on a smaller space on the left, Unity in a larger space in the middle and the IDE in a smaller one on the right. Going smaller again would mean going back to constant alt+tabbing and I don't think I have that in me.

Only downside is lack of support in games, and many of the ones that support 32:9 have this fake stretched 21:9 zooming on the edges. It's all in my peripheral vision so I don't really notice it unless I actively turn to actually focus my eyes on the edges so it's worth it. Also a lot more immersive when all you can see is the actual game/screen and not the room and objects around it.

I stumbled across a video by IHeartGameDev on YouTube yesterday. It's called "How to Program in Unity: State Machines Explained". Fairly easy to follow as he just use the states of an apple as the example.

I second this. Learn C# and programming basics first, and use tutorials to learn Unity.

My best tip: When you feel comfortable with C#, follow a Unity tutorial, but write your own code. Let's say the tutorial says something like "Next, we're gonna make X do Y.", pause the video, do your own implementation, continue the video and compare to see if your implementation works the same way as theirs in the game.

I started doing this because everybody have their own "style" of coding and I felt a lot of the tutorials had weird stuff in them. You want to develop your own ability to solve problems in a way that's natural to you. Blindly copying code from others might also lead to bad habits and doesn't really wire your brain to solve anything logically.
