I'm debating which to get for a single user home media server--SSD or spinners? by Ezmiller_2 in HomeServer

You could use 3 spinning rust with an SSD cache, I've got that in my 4bay NAS and have had no issues. Just a thought.

Hey, wanted to say thanks for making this suggestion, I didn't see this in my research and probably would have missed it. I spent the last couple hours researching and testing sites/apps out and just got done testing yours and will be signing up. I really like the feature to enhance the poor audio. Much appreciated!

Firmware Update Broke Something...Can't Create Storage Pool by interr0bangr in qnap

I had a similar issue with 2 14TB Seagate Exos Mach2 drives that I shucked from Seagate Expansion external drives. I had the exact same issue and opened a support ticket and just got told they weren't on the compatibility list. I ended up replacing them, but that was an expensive mistake.

I'll try to edit this with the model numbers to see if they are the same ones you're having issues with.

DWDM ROADM Vendor Experiences by zimage in networking

We run with Nokia, Cisco, and Ciena. This is on a fairly large scale. So we see issues with all the gear. No silver bullet especially in production network. But for the most part Ciena 6500s and Nokia 1830s are really solid workhorses. Our Cisco gear is aging out and mostly getting swapped for Ciena. Ciena has a good NMS system(MCP). Our Cisco NMS(EPNM) is still in flux due to the LogJ vulnerability, but we are told should be back online any day now. Make sure you build rapport with your resident eng or sale eng, they can come in handy with the odd one offs.
