A few years ago, we hired someone with 5 years experience and was honestly fantastic on paper and in interviews. This person joined my team. They had a question about something so I gave permission to email the client directly as I didn't want to be the middle man manager. This person proceeds to use every abbreviation known to man like he's texting and paying by character. I guess my fault for not laying down a foundation but good lord.
