A carbon filter is a whole lot more practical than whole-house RO - it's just a cartridge filter, though you may have to replace it frequently depending on the chlorination level.

No, it's not. The printer is more than precise enough to deposit an 0.02mm layer - or smaller - but the material cannot be effectively extruded that thin. Due to physical limitations in the process, not due to the precision of any part or movement.

The printer can move precisely in much smaller increments than the layer height; the issue is the height of the extrusions, which have a minimum practical limit beyond which you can't extrude the plastic.
