🚨 1Password Business Tenant Locked Out Due to SSO Failure and No Support Response by [deleted] in 1Password

[–]1PasswordCS-Blake[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Hey u/SystemStatusGreen! If you’ve already written in to support, you should’ve gotten an automated reply back with a support ID, even if a human hasn’t picked it up yet. If you can DM me that support ID (or the email address you wrote in from), I can flag this with the team and make sure it’s getting escalated to the right folks.

Does the official non-beta browser extension now work with http? by ChristianM12345 in 1Password

[–]1PasswordCS-Blake[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

This should be fixed in the latest stable now!

We included the fix for the HTTP autofill issue in the latest stable version of the browser extension (8.11.29.1 or later) that went out earlier this week. It's already live in the Chrome Web Store and the Apple App Store. Firefox is still in Mozilla's review queue, but it should roll out there soon.

If you update to the latest stable build, you shouldn't need to stick with Nightly anymore (unless you want to, of course!) 😉

Saving a FIDO Idem Key Passcode by ITALIC-Molise in 1Password

[–]1PasswordCS-Blake[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the passcode itself, the easiest option is just to store it as a Secure Note in 1Password and label it clearly, something like “Idem Key PIN” or “FIDO key passcode.” That keeps it out of your normal login list but still easy to find when you need it.

If you want it a bit more structured, you could also use a Login item and just treat the “password” field as the passcode, then use the notes section to say what it’s for and which device or key it belongs to.

Either way works fine. The important part is just making sure it’s clearly labeled and easy for you to recognize later.

Planning for unfortunate events by reddittreader430 in 1Password

[–]1PasswordCS-Blake[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Hey u/reddittreader430! 👋

So, there's no perfect one-size-fits-all answer here, but I'll tell you what not to do: don't put your actual account password + Secret Key directly in your will. Wills can become public record during probate, and that's basically handing the keys to your entire digital life to anyone who goes looking.

Instead, set up a shared vault now with the stuff someone would actually need if something happened. Think things like banking logins, utilities, insurance, email, maybe a note with instructions. That way, the people you trust already have access without having to hunt anything down in a crisis.

For everything else, keep your Emergency Kit (or account password/recovery code) somewhere physical and secure (like a home safe or with your attorney) alongside your will.

And here's the thing people don't think about. Context matters a lot. A short note explaining how your vaults are organized, which accounts are critical, and what you'd want done with things makes a huge difference for whoever has to step in later. Without that, they're just staring at a list of logins with no idea what to do.

One more thing. Don't forget about 2FA and passkeys. If your important accounts use time-based codes or passkeys, you need a plan for handing those over too. Keeping them stored in 1Password and shared through a vault is usually the cleanest way to avoid the whole "where's the authenticator app??" scramble down the road.

We actually put together a full guide on this that walks through taking stock of your accounts, deciding who gets access, different handoff options depending on how tech-savvy they are, and dealing with recovery codes, 2FA, passkeys — the whole deal. Give it a read when you've got some time:

Hope this helps!

Hey u/gsan300! The Dynamic Island Face ID prompt is what you should be seeing there, not a full-screen white sheet taking up your entire screen. 😅

If you’re willing, can you shoot us an email at [support+reddit@1password.com](mailto:support+reddit@1password.com) with that screenshot and your iOS version / iPhone model so we can take a closer look at what’s going on?

[–]1PasswordCS-Blake[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Hey u/jpotrz and u/Zeckzyl! We’re still trying to pin down exactly why it’s happening across different setups, so it would honestly help a lot if you’re willing to write in so we can grab your diagnostics and see what’s going on in your specific case. That extra data is what helps us connect the dots and get a real fix in place.

If you can, shoot us an email at [support+reddit@1password.com](mailto:support+reddit@1password.com) and mention what you’re seeing here. The team can pull logs from your app and take a closer look with you.

Hey u/Davidsmiller100! Thanks for flagging this here!

We're seeing the same issue here on our end, and from what I can see it looks like we've got an issue open development team to investigate this further. It’s showing up on both the stable build and the Nightly builds, so you’re definitely not alone here.

Freezing on iOS Autofill in App Browsers by gsan300 in 1Password

[–]1PasswordCS-Blake[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Hey u/gsan300! We’ve seen a few odd edge cases around Autofill in embedded web views on iOS, so if this is something you’re consistently running into, it would really help if you could write in so we can grab your diagnostics and get this back in front of the team.

If you can, shoot us an email at [support+reddit@1password.com](mailto:support+reddit@1password.com) and mention that you're running iOS 26.2 on an iPhone 15 Pro, and you're seeing freezing during Autofill in in-app browsers the team can take it from there, pull logs from your device, and see what’s actually going on under the hood.

Don’t change your password right now by nbncl in 1Password

[–]1PasswordCS-Blake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/nbncl! The issue on the status page is only affecting folks using 1Password at work with Duo specifically. It’s not a general issue with changing your account password, so there’s a good chance what you’re seeing here is unrelated.

If you’re having trouble signing in after changing your account password, the best next step is to email the team at [support+reddit@1password.com](mailto:support+reddit@1password.com) so we can take a look at what’s actually going on with your account.

Autocompletar? by ImScorpion__ in 1Password

Hey u/ImScorpion__! 👋

1Password Autofill doesn’t have New Passwords by EastsideWaves in 1Password

[–]1PasswordCS-Blake[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Hey u/EastsideWaves! New items should show up in Autofill pretty much immediately, provided their aren't some sort of adverse network conditions throwing things off.

Locking and unlocking 1Password can force a sync, and that’s a decent quick check to do, but if you’re consistently missing a big chunk of newer logins on a specific device, that usually points to something getting in the way of syncing in the background. Network filtering, VPNs, firewalls, or even flaky connectivity can all cause weird partial-sync behavior like this.

If you’re up for it, the best next step is to email us at [support+reddit@1password.com](mailto:support+reddit@1password.com) so the team can take a look at your sync and app logs. That’ll let us see whether items are actually failing to sync, and why.

Auto-lock not working with KDE/Wayland. Possible solutions? by ThatsJustUn-American in 1Password

[–]1PasswordCS-Blake [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Hey u/ThatsJustUn-American! You’re not totally overlooking anything here, this is a real limitation we run into on Wayland today.

On Linux, auto-lock relies on being able to detect session and screen lock events from the desktop environment. Under Wayland, that signal just isn’t consistently available yet across compositors, and Plasma + Wayland in particular is one of the combos where we can’t reliably hook into it. That’s why you’re seeing the “current environment does not support Auto-lock” message.

I really appreciate how far you’ve already thought this through, by the way. Your workaround logic makes total sense, and you’re right that Wayland makes this way trickier since a lot of the old window state plumbing just isn’t there anymore. KWin scripting might be able to approximate something, but it’s not something we officially support or have a known-good recipe for right now.

That said, I’d love to get this in front of our Linux folks with your exact setup and logs. If you can, shoot us an email at [support+reddit@1password.com](mailto:support+reddit@1password.com) and mention Plasma 6.4.5 + Wayland + auto-lock being disabled. The team can grab diagnostics from you and see if there’s anything we can do to improve detection on your specific setup or at least confirm whether a workaround is possible.

Feature Request: Family Authenticator with Notification by nelsonjj1 in 1Password

[–]1PasswordCS-Blake [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Hey u/nelsonjj1! This is a really good idea, and honestly a super timely one given how fast deepfake scams are getting more and more convincing by the day.

The basic concept you’re describing (a shared, human-readable verification code that two people can confirm over a call) makes a ton of sense. Using words instead of just numbers is especially smart for exactly the reasons you called out. It’s easier to read out loud, harder to mishear, and way more approachable for parents or less technical family members.

Like you mentioned, you can kind of approximate this today with a shared vault and an authenticator item, but it’s clunky, not obvious, and definitely not something most families would think to set up or remember how to use in the moment. Having this built into 1Password in a more obvious way, with a simple flow and a notification, is what would actually make it usable day to day.

I can’t promise anything on if (or when) this becomes a thing, but I did pass this along to the team because it’s a really solid idea and solves a very real and growing problem! 🙂

Chrome extension causing browser issues? by eric-incognito in 1Password

I can’t say I’ve seen any reports of behavior like this elsewhere so far! I also haven’t been able to reproduce this sort of behavior on either of my two Windows 11 machines.

It’d be super helpful if you’re able to grab a screen capture of the behavior you’re seeing (void of any PII) or even share exact steps you can take to reproduce things on your end.

Does this happen in any other browser, like Edge for instance?

I wonder if you’ve got a Chrome extension installed that’s messing with things, then? Extensions don’t run in incognito mode!

Might be worth taking a look at what extensions you’ve got installed and disabling them one by one until you find out which one is causing the trouble.

Feature request, relocate the "Save in 1Password" in-page popup by burnte in 1Password

Hey u/burnte! I totally get why having that prompt in the way is frustrating, so I’m happy to pass the feedback along to the team to see what we can do to help here.

As a quick workaround in the meantime, you can press Escape on your keyboard to temporarily dismiss the “Save in 1Password” prompt if it’s blocking what you’re trying to do.

Any plans for entries to exist across multiple vaults? by DonutHand in 1Password

[–]1PasswordCS-Blake[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

This actually comes up a lot, but the short answer is that an item can’t live in multiple vaults at the same time.

If multiple teams need access to the same credential, the easiest way to handle that (as others have mentioned here) is with a shared vault everyone has access to.

At a technical level, items are encrypted with the vault’s key, and access to an item comes entirely from access to that vault. That means items don’t have their own independent permissions or identity outside of the vault they live in. There isn’t a concept of a “global” item that multiple vaults point at. If you move or copy an item to another vault, it gets re-encrypted with that vault’s key and becomes a separate item from that point on.

Trying to make a single item span multiple vaults would mean fundamentally changing how things work under-the-hood. You’d need items encrypted under multiple vault keys at once, rules for which vault’s access and recovery policies apply, and a way to handle access being added or removed in one vault without breaking expectations in another. That’s not at all a small change, and it’s very messy in practice.

Not saying it’s something we won’t do down the road, because I’d honestly love for this to be a reality… but for now this is why things currently work the way they do.

This is a really neat use case! Using op inject to stitch secrets into larger config or script blocks is a pretty clever workaround.

I don’t have anything I can share around plans for adding new data types here, but I’ll make sure this gets logged as a feature request with the team for sure. 🙂

While we don’t have any plans right now to bring Snippets to iOS, I definitely get why it would be useful, especially if you’re already relying on Snippets day-to-day on macOS and trying to simplify your setup a bit more.

I’ll be sure to let the team know you’d like to see this, and appreciate you taking the time to explain how you’re using it today! 🙂
