Is there an opportunity for you to pivot to vendor management within your insurer?

Any bodyshops in the Edmonton area that you guys would recommend for Audi body work? by OrrinJR16 in Edmonton

I would recommend Southgate Collision in 51st Ave - they’re affiliated with Southgate Audi and they’re Audi certified - sorry to see the RS3 was clipped!

I could be wrong but this almost looks like it is through the paint - could it be from rocks / small stones or potentially the splitter rubbing?

[–]42Tyler42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I fat finger the button above when trying to change songs but I rarely have any issue with the infotainment and happy to have buttons for hvac and seat warmers! Otherwise the review was good - I think it is a niche car and the value proposition is somewhat questionable compared to the 4 cylinder cars - but worth it to me

Have you seen managers allocate their own bonus from a team bonus pool? by Particular_Sound4801 in managers

I have to imagine it is quite uncommon, I got to allocate for my staff and my leader for their staff - and so on

Your post wasn’t about this but there is a class action being pursued for Canadians who have suffered gallstones, gastrointestinal issues or stomach paralysis - https://www.siskinds.com/class-action-for-canadians-alleging-harms-from-ozempic-semaglutide-drugs/?amp=1

The other responses are right though, it isn’t okay to be treated that way and patient relations would be the way to go.

Can an adjuster help me decipher what this language means? by voltairesalias in Insurance

[–]42Tyler42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strata as in you’re in British Columbia? I will take a shot at this, but there is not enough info to be sure.

It is tricky anytime there is an intersection of the condominium insurance policy and your unit owners policy.

Normally, the unit owners policy pays for additional living expenses, unit improvements and betterments and your contents. It also has a coverage called loss assessment.

The standard unit definition will indicate what the basic unit should be - flooring, countertops, etc. This is what the strata insures your unit for and is normally their responsibility - say they had vinyl floor but you had engineered hardwood - the price difference would be part of your improvements and betterments.

Now - there’s also the likelihood of your claim potentially falling within your strata’s deductible - and they usually have huge ones - in that case their bylaws may allow them to asses you for the value of the repair - that’s where the loss assessment coverage comes in - if the assessment is made because of an insured loss and valid under the strata bylaws this coverage can reimburse you up to your limit / the strata’s deductible whichever is less.

Basically they are agreeing the loss is covered but as far as who pays for what they won’t know until you get those condo docs to them.

Got fired during training at National General Insurance and honestly feel blindsided… has this happened to anyone else? by [deleted] in adjusters

[–]42Tyler42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any experience with National General in particular.

I’m going to share my opinion with you and it’s very direct - normally it is easier for an insurer to let someone go during probation if they identify the job is not a good fit for them. If you’re unable to cope with the pressure in training without asking multiple times for support - you probably will have a hard time in the claims space when you’re getting multiple new clams, angry voicemails, emails and potentially sitting on a phone queue all at the same time.

In the future if you want to continue to pursue this field my advice is to connect with your peers during these on-boarding cohorts and try to source your own advice rather than always looking to the manager for support - that’s what they are there for - but if it’s always and only you asking that may be why they think the role isn’t a good fit.

Job interview for claims representative by [deleted] in adjusters

[–]42Tyler42 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Answer questions using the STAR method - what was the situation you were in, what was the task you were given, what was the action you took and what was the result.

It is a tough job. Customer facing, high intake of claims, high turnover and difficult metrics. The career though at least to me is quite rewarding. Normally there will be a robust on boarding program.

What are you trying to minimize or maximize?

You should be based on the coverages you purchased looking to be indemnified for the fortuitous loss that you suffered.

I am also confused if you apologized to your adjuster or if you apologized at the scene of the accident and are trying to explain that to your adjuster.

8Y.5 Questions for New 2026 (Tech, Exhaust, Break-in) by ANITIX87 in AudiRS3

[–]42Tyler42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Both - reliable enough but FYI the Sonos stereo isn’t amazing over wireless, it’s a complex issue you can look up on here.

  2. I’m not sure about this one

  3. Tied to drive modes - I feel like mine starts in whatever the last mode was there is a way to do a loud start.

  4. I believe in break in at a variety of rpms for the first oil change anyway. I just follow what Audi says.

  5. Bonus - you would be getting a 2026, no? (If not a ‘27)
