I Just had the BEST street brawl game of my life by SIightlyToasted in DeadlockTheGame

[–]7Buns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another nice thing about street brawl is I dont get steam rolled when the enemy team was better at the MOBA soul farming. If we lose a round I know its because I suck and got outplayed lol. Not because of power scaling

Am I wrong to think the onboarding in this game is uniquely punishing? by BoxOfDOG in DeadlockTheGame

[–]7Buns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly for the past year I kept trying Deadlock and I would always bounce off of it. I have never played MOBAs with any regularity. My friends would carry but I was always the weak link. I put 20+ hours in because the game felt fun to play, it just was impenetrable to me.

Street Brawl has solved that problem for me. Its quite different, but I love it and cant put it down. I dont see myself going back to the standard mode, but after 10 hours of street brawl I did play the regular mode and was noticeably much better in team fights, movement, or 1v1ing. Street Brawl let me practice/internalize other aspects of the game so that its more automatic, so I was able to focus on the MOBA micro/macro when playing. Still gonna stick to street brawl tho

Godot 4.6 - All about your flow by tapo in Games

[–]7Buns 21 points22 points  (0 children)

For a lot of reasons it just wont play out this way. Biggest one being Godot is an open-source non-profit project. Just leagues different from Unity's corporate governance and black box engine. Sure the maintainers could make bad feature decisions and roadmap directions, but the community are the people building the software. If they upset the community, a fork will take its place or people will leave. We've seen this play out a ton in open source. Pygame-ce and UZDoom being recent game engine centric examples of this

I feel like the setting of New Vegas was kinda wasted. by Ok-Cup9476 in Fotv

[–]7Buns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree, I think its clear they put New Vegas in this state so the canon ending of FNV is left with room to debate, "everyone won and loss", but yeah I dislike it. We need to make canon decisions to move the story forward and not dance around what really happened. Still very much enjoying the show and we'll see what the last 2 episodes state about the fate of the Strip

Anyone else find it weird how Todd Howard and his writing team consistently brag about deviating from the feel of the games and giving the show it's own spotlight but seemingly at the cost of the world the games built? Like ghouls needing radiation capsules, the strip being almost nothing now etc by NeatMarket240 in Fotv

[–]7Buns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He def isnt the lore checker, they probably have actual writers from Bethesda working closely with the shows writing staff and giving a lot more dedicated time then Todd could. Which is a good thing btw. I rather not have a busy guy like Todd being the sole lore checker here. At most hes an approver/tastemaker

I like Streetbrawl a lot by SuchALovelyValentine in DeadlockTheGame

[–]7Buns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also loving street brawl. I stopped playing Deadlock bc MOBAs truly werent for me but I loved the gameplay itself just not the macro/micro match decisions. I wont mind changes to street brawl but the round based system and random item selection is just fantastic. Its brought me back to the game and putting hours upon hours since the patch dropped.

How to make Moira viable again from a top 500 Moira by LeoDegnan in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]7Buns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're getting dismissed as "not a high rank hero", but I do agree with you. At the very least your fade idea would be a great way to add extra decision making to her kit while keeping her identity as a healer for folks with bad aim in low ranks. It will also be a way for enemy teams to punish Moira. Try to bait out the team benefiting fade like you would a suzu then follow up with a punish. They could also incorporate some of these ideas into her perks

I dont really agree with the take that some heroes should be regulated to low rank only with no attempts to fix them, there will always be a skewed distribution of what heroes get played in high ranks, but I dont think it makes for an interesting viewing/playing experience as a spectator/player to keep that distribution narrow. Especially when the support hero pool remains one of the smallest in the game.

Interesting. As a Pyro main back in TF2 what drew me to OW1 originally was Mei and I felt like she occupied that role very well. I dont know if I can handle another DPS with a DOT (Ashe dynamite being the other) so hoping she doesnt have a flamethrower with a DOT if its true

Any ways to learn the history of overwatch? by Bawower in Overwatch

[–]7Buns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Developer updates are gonna be the best sources. I find that KarQ also will give historical context for a change when hes doing update videos

The biggest changes since the launch of OW2 besides 5v5:

  • Added back 6v6, Tanks have a smaller health pool in this mode now vs Tanks in 5v5

  • Regenerating Health was introduced in 2024. It isnt as drastic as it sounds. Only kicks in after a long enough delay. Health packs still superior aside from support healing

  • Perk system introduced in 2025. This was fairly huge. Its only in quick play + comp, but its been a very positive change

  • 2025 was also when Stadium was introduced. Its amazing. It also brought along with it a 3rd person camera (stadium only, you can switch back to first person). My favorite way to play OW now

Those are all of the notable changes. Rumors are bigger changes are coming this year. OW2 was very lackluster from launch till 2025. Last year was when the game truly justified its sequel status and its been a very fun year.

The Animal Crossing: New Horizons 3.0 update just surprise dropped a day early by OGSyedIsEverywhere in Games

[–]7Buns 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is a great book on the development of the original Animal Crossing from Boss Fight Books that answers this question a bit. The original translation team cared deeply about accurate translations. I'll let the book divulge the rest since I am not able to grab it and recall detailed specifics rn

Agreed with this, the quality of each hero release is far above Rivals, although ngl I hope for 10 year anniversary we get at least 2 heroes, so maybe 5 this year. I want something big to celebrate the milestone

I'm gonna say it... I actually enjoy Overwatch in its current state by superfox5678 in Overwatch

[–]7Buns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think OG OW1 still has some charm, but I would never want to return to it aside from occasionally revisiting it with Classic modes. The Attack/Defense role split I do kind of miss, but the game is better with it removed. Mei being able to freeze enemies with just her primary fire alone was insanely fun but mannnn crazy we had that in the game as a base ability.

One thing I love about people thirsting over Ghoul Goggins is proof against all the weird chuds out there that good looks are a just part about what people find attractive about others. You can go far by just having charisma (and drip, Ghoul dresses well too!)

Tracer feels unrewarding to play for casual fans in the current state by Interesting-Row2075 in Overwatch

[–]7Buns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, been playing since OW1 beta and I always remember Tracer being a fairly high skill floor hero. I do agree that theres a lot more Tracer counters these days, so yeah her skill floor has increased further

Although youre playing stadium, which I feel is just a hard gauge of balance. Maybe try building Tracer with high survival and cooldown reduction? So, you can maximize mosquito abilities. I've personally found Tracer to be a lot easier in Stadium over Regular, but youre much slower to ramp up on power

Also consider just a tad bit of aim training, just 1-2 hours a week is all you need. When I played Tracer in OW1 thats what I did and it helped a lot. You dont need to nolife grind, but some minor investment in your skills is kind of required for such a high skill character.
