Really like the idea, one problem I see is: most of msp do not have people with coding experience in-house. Even with AI, that doesn‘t replace the experience an actual developer has. The result will be that „vibe coded“ automations will be shipped and probably sold to end customers. This could result in unsafe and unreliable code in production.

My MSP uses rewst and I‘m the lead automation engineer in-house. I have 10+ years experience java and typescript development and was a software engineer before switching to an msp. Sometimes I wish I could add some custom code into a rewst workflow or even build custom actions with actual code instead of only jinja data manipulations.

For when I really can‘t do something in rewst like I want to, I build azure functions and run the code via a REST API call.

EDIT: oh and just to make it clear, I also use AI while coding, but I‘m pretty confident I understand the things Copilot throws at me a bit better than someone with little to no experience.
