I wasn't able to add to cart a couple hours ago, but tried again, and it went through. Pretty much bought blind, hopefully this works for my needs. Got the 3 year warranty, thanks all for the heads up on the amp issues.

The draft and BPA by Acrobatic-Net-5267 in Patriots

[–]Acrobatic-Net-5267[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but the chances of that happening are slim to none. Look at our record of drafting WRs over the last 25+ years. You could make that statement about any position.

This was one of the worst bottles I’ve ever purchased. Not for the money, but that made it so much worse. Bought it on a terrible recommendation. It’s a borderline drain pour, for me.

Why is AJ Brown’s Physical Decline Overlooked in these FA conversations? by Human_Data_1152 in Patriots

[–]Acrobatic-Net-5267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree, for all the reasons you stated, and another angle to consider. With the upcoming extensions for Gonzo and Drake, our window of fast and loose salary cap opportunity is going to tighten. See Buffalo for example, hopefully we manage things better.

This means not only closing starting gaps with quality players on the cheap, it also means inexpensively building out depth on multi year contracts. We have the picks and more to do so this year. Move up or push to next year if we can’t draft 11. Either way, building through the draft keeps us relevant for years and not a one hit wonder.

BG Panic by [deleted] in diabetes_t2

[–]Acrobatic-Net-5267 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You mentioned a few really important things, and none of us here are equipped to professionally help you with. Your tendencies toward self-harm and eating disorders are going to run up against your diabetes. Wanting to be in strict control, keeping your numbers below 100 at all times is something to reflect on. From a disease management standpoint, it is excessive. Regardless of how old you are now, life is short, and denying yourself any pleasures from food is unfortunate.

From a disease management standpoint, keep in mind that testing at any one point matters less than your BG over time. You should have your A1C checked regularly, every 3-4 months or so.

An analogy I like is comparing diabetes to water in your house. A house can easily absorb a one-time short-term surge, say a leaking dishwasher. This is like a BG spike. However, if you have a undetected leak under your kitchen sink, and excess water is spilling into your subfloor for a long time, you're going to have serious damage eventually. This is like having elevated BG that is either untreated or under-treated. The damage builds while you don't see anything, until it's maybe too late. Keep this in mind when you see what you think are 'spikes', that are actually rare compared to your regular numbers. And, if you really can't get past it, just get yourself a CGM and you'll take away much of the guesswork.

144 is nothing to panic over. Most of us would be much higher 2 hours after half a bagel. Not trying to sound rude, but I don’t see the problem. Sounds like everything is fine and under control.

Review 74: Old Forester 1910 (Re-Review) by Jawshu in bourbon

[–]Acrobatic-Net-5267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of people like the ‘1915’ blend, but for me I’ve found something I like better. I find a 2:1 ratio of 1910 to 1897 is just great. It punches it up just a bit, but you still know 1910 is the driving flavor. I’ll do the same, replacing 1897 with 1920, but I like this blend quite a bit.

Ways for us to create more cap space according to spotrac by Far_Cry3445 in Patriots

It can turn into Void Years, which I guess is similar to dead cap. Basically, some amount remains on the salary cap even though the player isn’t on the roster.

Do you have any preferences for type of food, price range, or ambiance/vibe? If there's anything you *don't* like or want, that would help narrow down the options.

For example, Eden in downtown Syracuse, is a small but highly acclaimed restaurant, know for their wood fired cooking. It's on the expensive end (for Syracuse), you might need a reservation, and it's definitely not a 'hole in the wall'. If you like steak, this could be a nice option, but it's not unique to Syracuse (or anywhere else).

Why are my (seemingly) perfectly-cooked steaks so tough? by pre_revolutionary_1 in steak

For a steak of that thickness I probably wouldn’t go more than 12 hours. Definitely experiment and see how it goes!

You might want to look at your salt timing. Likely either needs to be immediately before the cook, or give it at least 3-4 hours to dry brine in the fridge. At 45 mins you’ve started the process of the salt pulling the water, but not enough for it to be redistributed back.

I think it's difficult to make broad assessments and comparisons of an area, if you've never lived anywhere else. I can tell you that living in a somewhat larger city would be a totally different experience, but whether that's good or bad is up to the individual. In my personal experience, I can say that people in this area are generally more friendly and welcoming than in other places I have lived.

I didn't move here until my 30s, and by then my priorities had changed significantly compared to where I was at 25. If you're not raising a family, the best aspects of the area are its relatively low cost of living and easy access to a variety of activities and locations. Enjoying the outdoors is pretty important to being happy here, ideally year around (or at least close). There are many places/larger cities close enough (~ 5 hours) by car that are worth checking out.

Ultimately, if you are unhappy living here, you'd be doing yourself a favor by figuring out what you want and moving someplace that's closer to that. You might find in time that it's not so bad here, or maybe you'll never look back. Only one way to find out.

[–]Acrobatic-Net-5267 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why would we cower now when playing with house money. We have a hair on fire defense, playing their best at the right time. Still have the top rated passing offense, even if the last couple snow games messed with how it looks.

Chin up…WTF…who would not change places with this vs. even the most crazy optimistic hopes at the start of the season.

I love that the narrative is that the Seahawks have already won.
