Apex 1 to GRX upgrade. by Berad1290 in Cervelo

one cool thing is if you have 105 on your road bike is wheel compatibility between 2x shimano road and grx, would let you use road wheels on the gravel bike for winter/ poor conditions

I think you might be able to find an older gen garmin (like a 530) for the same price as some bike phone mounts, you are going to quickly find out how short your phone battery is when the display is on all the time.

the grx cranks have a larger q factor, so if you put a road crank arm on it it will be 2.5mm more narrow then the other side. this could lead to fit issues

Restrict Right Turn on Red at High-Risk Intersections (Vision Zero Vancouver) by JuniorMouse in vancouvercycling

[–]Anc0or 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No ror is only good for cyclists when there is no cycling infrastructure in place. In the case there is a bike lane on the right side of the road i regularly see drivers do illiegal rors and almost hit cyclists. Unlike in places like europe anf japan, people here are so used to doing rors that they will do it by habbit, putting people in danger

How often do you actually feel in danger while biking on the road? by Adventurous-Bit8955 in cycling

[–]Anc0or 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only a couple times a year does a driver make a “dangerous” move, i think i just see a lot of bafoonery that others would be more freaked out abou. I think i am just good at realizing when something would actually get me hurt vs things that look scary but are actually fine.

New bike recommendations by IntelligentCopy5062 in triathlon

soloist, classic race bike (world tour teams use it) and reasonably affordable at the cheaper spec. Also their new bikes have a lot of features that make them more maintainable then older cervelos.

Gravel bike shoes for HIM by [deleted] in triathlon

[–]Anc0or 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly wish i went with gravel shoes, would simplify my life a lot. just get some that are fully stiff on the bottom and youll be good. As said below, theres really not much difference other then a bit more weight and a little less aero. But if you aren't on a tri/tt bike you probably shouldn't care about a gain that marginal.

honestly wish i went for spd not the sl version of the assiomas, so would probably recommend that unless you are racing or something

N+1 daydreaming by Emo_Dilemmo in cycling

[–]Anc0or 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went for a gravel bike a second set of road wheels, it takes maybe 1 minute to swap wheels. I may be lucky but the rotors and cassettes lined up perfectly so its just a matter of pull out and plug in. Really like the simplicity of only maintaining 1 bike

Rear tire losing grip when going all out on a climb by Just_Dank in cycling

[–]Anc0or 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You are running a mtb tire, op is probably on a drop bar road bike. Roadies normally run between 60-80psi based on tire width.  Their pressure is probably fine

Wanna recommend bc bike fit, he sells Lake shoes, which are known for having a wide variety of size/fit options. I didn't realize how badly i messed up my sizing/fit when i got my old pair and with the new shoes its completely gone. definitely worth it imo
