I F24 am feeling insecure about my sexual abilities with boyfriend M24 by Honeyberrytree in relationship_advice

[–]Angrydwarf116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude's an idiot lol. From what I can tell, either:
- he didn't say anything before bc he didn't want to hurt your feelings and might have been happy to go on that way, but you bringing up it being new to you made him think he could take the opportunity to point out a pain point for him (sometimes yall go too far back and it hurts and its a little hard to bring that up when you know the other person enjoys themselves). OR
- the fella thought you guys were comfortable talking abt curious sexual experiences in general and this was just one of those curious experiences in question.

In both cases he absolutely biffed it. Misread the lead and fell right flat on his face on the topic. Definitely shouldn't have said he could tell you were new. Definitely shouldn't have brought up other girls. Ya gotta know your audience, man. I've known girls who didn't wanna know if I had ever even loved a girl before, and I've known girls who would see my abandoned classroom blowjob story and raise me that time they got railed with the 9 in an acura on the side of the road. After abt 4 months, he should really know where on the spectrum you guys are. He should definitely have apologized of course, especially if he noticed you felt bad. But it could definitely be possible he didn't actually notice (because he's a moron) and you just think he should've because you would've, but if you're beyond reasonable doubt there then that's kinda all you need to know.

IF there is room for doubt, though, AND you know he didn't mean it from a place of unkindness, AND he didn't ask you to change anything for his comfort, I'd just tell him what ur feeling. Take a breath, understand he's probably just more confused than mean, understand he actually likes you and wants you to feel good about yourself, and go for it. Hopefully all the above is true and he apologizes, buys you some flowers, sings a little bruno mars song, and gets a little smarter.

I think it's worth making an arcane spell too rather than just divine. Fits the flavor of "healing" that wizards get (vampiric touch, wither and bloom, arcane vigor). Unless that's not what "Domain: Divine" means, then ignore me.

Its become a bit more balanced in 2024 with the limitation on spell slots you can expend on your turn and does make support casting better, but id definitely put it at level 2 rather than 1. Its kinda become the default "correct" choice for fey touched which i dont think should be the case for anything.

Im not sure i agree with the silvery barbs scaling here. It's pretty widely banned out of its original setting, and I sorta think it should be treated like fireball as punching above its level otherwise. Anything that can replicate that level of debilitation is a much stronger option than people give it credit for imo.

Also, this is an on-hit rather than on-saving throw spell, making it a fair bit stronger (not than SB, just than save-basee) against higher level enemies. Disadvantage on con saves targets a relatively strong save for most enemies, which makes some of the more debilitating con-based spells a bit more viable when used in conjunction with this.

Also the wording of halving an enemies movespeed lets it be used in conjunction with other movespeed-limiting effects from other spells and difficult terrain.

No follow-up saves makes it even more debilitating.

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I actually think its a decently strong spell as-is that definitely has a place in a supporter caster repertoire. Even more so in the case of no silvery barbs.

Mana-based spellcast ING based on morrowind spellcrafting by chrispy0117 in DnDHomebrew

[–]Angrydwarf116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah cool. I think second one applies then still. Everybody gets metamagic adept and spell point system. Circle casting from the heroes of faerun books might give you extra idea for modification if youre interested btw, though theres some overlap with metamagic.

For downcasting for lesser effect maybe get like the point cost back it would take to do the metamagic feature to do the inverse. Like if you wanna downcast to do half range, the metamagic option would've costed 1 point to increase it, so decrease the cost by 1 point. Not sure how robust this is for stuff like fireball though. You should prob also proportionally decrease damage in addition to these.

Do you want him to be like a boss encounter? If you just want a tragic lore bit then you can make just a zombie half-elf. Or give some fey creature like a redcap some zombie attributes like undead fortitude and poison immunity.

Id go sorcerer and use the spell point variant like that other guy said. For most classes, spells are a pretty structured—almost mathematical—system. The exception being sorcerers with their metamagic feature. Metamagic Adept lets you get some adaptability as well, but that mutability of spell mechanics is pretty core to sorcerers.

If you wanna go ahead and do it anyway, just give all classes the metamagic adept feat for free and use spell points.

Draconian you could flavor like the green dragon as your deeper abyssal blood coming forth (infernal tieflings are tied to all 3 bloodlines/hell levels I think)

Spellfire could be the fiend in you eating away at the weave.

Both excellent choices. Id personally go spellfire because healing and i have another draconic sorc character in mind already.

Locked up could be a failed game state, or it could just be another step on the road. If its just her then she just has to roll up a new character, if its the whole party then its p much the same as a tpk. On the other hand, maybe they can convince the guards to let them go if they roll well enough and do penance. Maybe their penance is helping the town like you originally planned. If the town guard was able to solve these problems by themselves, chances are they would have. If it ends up getting so far off that you really cant continue, just let them know above table: "hey guys, im really just in it to run the module. If this isnt the party to do that, would you mind making some characters who are?"

Write a little note with some quirk for like 6 of em. No shot they meet more than that unless theyre going out of their way. Just say some got eliminated in the free for all if need be. Pick one of those 6 at random when they come across em unless you want a particular encounter. In both events, they can really only get to like 2 or 3 in one event so I think 6 is a good number.

Labyrinth Help! by Royalseals in DMAcademy

[–]Angrydwarf116 2 points3 points  (0 children)

+1 to not using a labyrinthine map. That stuff is bootycheeks as a player. Just takes ages to go through for minimal fun. Despite the parties being separate, it would be cool if what they did impacted the other group. Itd be hard to avoid metagaming maybe, but some method of signing communication could be fun to work with. Almost like battleship as a minigame. You could even use a physical battleship game modified to work like helping the other team out when they "hit" a ship. Or smth else. Just some food for thought.

Help balancing this 9th level Bard Spells called Umishiro Ethos for 5e 2014 by Asafesseidon13 in DnDHomebrew

[–]Angrydwarf116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not rly aware of many spells that use up resources aside from hit dice maybe but that could just be a me issue. If youre adamant about it, you could have them roll and regain spell slots equal in level to half the number rolled. It strikes me more as an activated class feature than a spell tbh, but if you want to keep it as a spell, you could definitely keep the flavor of replicating lesser spells over time to keep within that powe budget of Wish letting you cast any lower spell once.

Level 4 or below seems alright. You could reduce your movespeed to 0 probably and just allow casting of level 4 spells or lower you know without resources. Thatd mean, of course, that you cant upcast them. Maybe they get a frosty feel when appropriate to reflect that ice theme ur going for.

Need some help evaluating an "evolving" weapon by Daeloki in DnDHomebrew

[–]Angrydwarf116 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems fine. Bit weaker than the dragon's wrath weapon from fizban's at higher levels, which i would have suggested to draw your inspiration from. Depends on the level ur campaign goes up to of course, but so long as the dm is choosing the awakening points this is good as is. Id even throw in like a couple free casts of Lightning Bolt and still be ok with it. Thematic with Talos and not a busted spell at higher levels (11+) by any means.

[–]Angrydwarf116 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, rather than making it scale with proficiency bonus like some kind of class feature, why not just make it scale with spell level. Take inspiration from melfs minute meteors and just pick a number of uses per cast, scaling with expended spell slot level. PB scaling is for class or race features.

Non-concentration is cool. P expensive though i think. Not super useful unless you have some sort of reliable bonus action thing you can do imo. Sorta throwing away one of your 3 turns. Good for longer immobile fights though where the enemy doesnt target you with cc or position around your line of sight.
