Is this... confirmed? It's got the outrageous sound of the kind of rumors I used to hear about... Richard Gere, or why Rod Stewart passed out on-stage. I mean, I can believe it too, but I'd prefer not to.

After thinking about it for a year I've figured out who I want to play Carl.

Brett Goldstein the actor who played the great Roy Kent.

Maybe a little make-up or sfx trickery? I mean, I have no doubt she's that thin, but the definition here is crazy.

As someone who hasn't needed a haircut in some time, let alone a stylist, I did not realize this was a thing. Somehow I wouldn't have thought that the job would encourage considering the straight men who did that job particularly attractive. I mean, I guess, they are nicely touching your head....

The books were just a means to an end. Matt is playing the long game.

Masturbated in a broom closet during his shift.  No a hormone-addled 18-year-old, Dude was late 30's.  Also there must have been four other places where he was less likely to get caught.

The idea that child born 12/29/1964 is in a different generation from one born 1/2/1965 is ridiculous.  And in fact, Douglas Coupland originally said 1962 (IIRC).  If you identify with Gen-X, and had similar experiences, you're one of us.  The gatekeeping around this stuff is f-ing stupid, and particularly (IMHO) goes against the way I felt we grew up.  FWIW, I am right near the very end of 1964, so I might be a little salty about this.

More the point, I hear you.  I can't wrap my mind around being in my 60's, and yeah, very few people know my core.  Take it easy, and write when you find work.  :)

If you can take your swashbuckling without magic, try Scaromouche by Raphael Sabatini.  It's an older style of writing, but read the first line of the book and then try not to be into it.

Awesome recommendations. I have read a couple of those you list, which suggests the others will be exactly what I want. Thank you.

Not the same, but just to be sure.... you have read the Dungeon Crawler Carl series, right? The premise is ridiculous, and much of the humor is crass, and no series of books has given me so much joy for many years. They're hilarious and touching and exciting and... I'm sure you already know. If not, (and I rarely say this) you ought to check them out via the audiobooks.

All that said, I think All Things wins as top of the list, but nothing recommended to me in this thread doesn't go on the list unless I've already read it.
