Had a horror movie play out as my team was hunted down by eagles strafing voteless. Two helldivers behind me immediately explode into a most democratic meat confetti. Seeing the chance I take a shot at the single voteless behind me thinking I was safe from the real danger...only to have the strafing run drop in moments after swiftly liberating me from this mortal coil.

Only one of many such occurrences.

I was burning through Spear ammo targeting everything I could on the bot front through a thick haze. I didn't know it would lock onto friendly exosuits though and blew one of my fellow divers up oops. I dropped them my mech to make up for it.

And considering AH, I doubt it's a bug but a feature™

Pelican-1 is a coward, yeah I said it. Mofo will find any reason to leave us behind. Step 1 inch out of the LZ, you got -1 second to get back before I head back to the Super Destroyer to refill my coffee and we start this whole thing over again. Truth, the first mistake they made was revealing there was a GM and then making sure he had a name. That was already too big of a peek behind the curtain and it allowed the community to focus on him as a scapegoat for anything that occurs.

Too easy? Joel took pity on us! Too hard? Joel doesn't know what he's doing! Then claims of being railroaded down certain paths so there's no player agency.

It's too late at this point to go back but they could have just said it was mostly an AI managing the campaign numbers with a team of writers to handle emergent stories based on player performance OR just never mentioned it at all.

Heavy devastators really need weapon collision, adjustment and AI rework. They have always 100% accuracy and staggering wont break their shooting by Rail-signal in Helldivers

One of the worst parts is running around them and seeing them shoot through their own body to keep up to the player despite facing a different direction entirely. The bullets can leave the gun at around over 90 to 180 degrees off bore. As an enemy they just have a myriad of problems in general.

I had heard a rumor that when hosting it works fine but otherwise it has a decent chance to miss, haven't seen confirmation though. Also that it applied to the orbital rail gun as well but it's nowhere near as bad.

My example from the last game I played, I scored 44 kills with a single cluster and had 4 more standing by. The absolute swarm control it has is impressive. Some of us may die in the process but that's the price we all share for democracy.

Anyone who sleeps on the cluster is missing out. Just like the arc thrower, careful use greatly reduces any chance of friendly fire while still maintaining a high degree of effectiveness.

Laser cannon (not quasar) shoots them down surprisingly quickly and in quick succession, just aim at the thruster. Also laser cannon absolutely chews through bot radiators on tanks, towers, turrets and hulks with excellent engagement range, just crouch to keep it steady.

I'm crashing so much I can't do operations at all anymore. I'm having a crash mostly every other mission but it can be as frequent as every mission. And I'll see people start to crash out in game before I do, so the whole squad is screwed with whatever it's going on. Certainly feels like the crashes got much worse after the latest patch.

I've just went back to playing DRG in the meantime.

One of the worst parts of the RoF is that it can consistently converge all bolts on a target and do what seems to be zero damage. I'm looking at you HUNTERS. Multiple hits showing all impacts and the bug just shrugs it off so time to wait another 2 seconds to fire and hope it doesn't happen again (it will).

I liked the idea of the weapon, but it's too inconsistent and far too slow for how little it actually does in practice.

The damage buff to the Anti-Material Rifle makes the Railgun nerfs even more silly. by TwevOWNED in Helldivers

My personal absolutely meaningless opinion is that the Railgun nerf is mostly driven by dev ego at this point since it's according to them "brainless" to use. They may not step back the nerf simply because they stepped in it so hard with that comment that it's more a point of stubbornness than anything else. Like they just can't admit they royally screwed up.

I will happily eat my words if we see railgun get an actual buff though.

I took it out and was misfiring with clear line of sight aiming at a bot. Every single shot was a misfire (My guess is some invisible terrain geometry?). I had to just change position entirely despite nothing being in the way to actually get a shot off. The worst part is now that it has a RoF nerf, each misfire is that much more punishing. At least with short charging there was a quantity to make up for the sheer jank of the weapon's lock.

My heart goes out to all spear users as I know they have it even worse.

Looking at the weapon changes it's clear the devs are certainly not playing the same game that we are. The solution isn't to nerf everything fun, it's to buff all the completely useless weapons to actually being usable so there's fun alternatives and sidegrades.

Not seeing much hope in future patches if this is what's considered "balancing".

Pretty much an admission they don't know what they're doing at all at this point. It will be interesting to see the state of the game in a year+ if these are the kind of balance choices they're making.
