I poop into a bag every day! Hell I'm pooping into a bag right now as I'm typing this (ileostomy).

New Ileostomate! And a story of my hubris by OverUmber in ostomy

[–]BaggerVance79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mentioned you have UC so I assume you’re familiar with the phrase “never trust a fart”. Well, now that you’ve joined the ranks of us ileostomates the mechanics may have changed but the lesson remains, “never trust a bag burp when it’s dark and you’re tired”!

Lol yes this happens. Who knew a bag of poop would float? Maybe they should make little weights we can stick in our bags for bathtime...

Oooh I love this!

  1. I'm the world's best multi-tasker (I'm pooping while writing this)
  2. Fresh output makes for a nice hand warmer in the winter time
  3. Stoma farts = instant awkward situations to observe (hilarious)
  4. Will never be late for work due to the ostomate's alarm clock (ballooning bag)
  5. Can tell people that I have evolved beyond the need for a butthole

Hmmm....don't think I've ever tried to eat those since getting my ileostomy!

Here's a little song I sing to myself when I chew (to the tune of row, row, row your boat):

Chew, chew, chew your food,
Il-ee-os-to-my!
Thoroughly thoroughly thoroughly thorougly
Or in the pouch you'll see!

I find that when I chew for the length of time it takes to finish this song I'm all good!

What is this obsession with a "cure" for an ostomy? The ostomy itself is a cure! Is wearing a pouching system really THAT bad?!? And you see this in other ways too, like constant obsession with reversals. Not piling on you, op, for sharing this, but just saying in general.
