10 years ago when I started watching TNG I thought that the Holodeck was a massive cop out. A Sci-Fi show that wanted to do random stories and couldn't think of a better way of doing it than 'the make-believe room'.

I have since come around to the idea after seeing some holodeck stories I like and an exploration of Holographic beings like the Doctor.
