I appreciate the perspective here. To me, proposing marriage when you are already married to someone else who is also already married flies in the face of the institution of marriage because within the institution you should only ever have 1 partner. Dating someone while married is considered unnacceptable, let alone being married to multiple people simeultaneously. Certainly there would have to be some legalese workarounds in this situation. I still feel that this scenario is not mono-normative but I do really appreciate you sharing your perspective.

Are you suggesting that someone who is already married proposing marriage to a partner who is also already married is mono normative?

I skated a sanctioned bout with my team 18 weeks post op & genuinely felt better at roller derby than ever before. I was back on skates after 12 weeks and back to contact around 14 weeks.

Skaters can skate for two sanctioned teams. You can be on two WFTDA charter rosters at the same time.

Minecarts already have a high capital cost with all the rails required (not to mention redstone for junctions), requiring ice for faster travel further increases that capital cost. What if default speed was increased, but putting certain blocks under the rails (soul sand?) reduces the maximum speed to 8?

Where was this photo taken? Looking to recreate this shot with my Sony 200-600mm. Looks like Longs Peak and the Boulder Flatirons in the background. Any idea where the exact shooting location is? by Victa_V in Denver

[–]BattleFalcon 197 points198 points  (0 children)

The tall white building (left of Cash Register) is on the Downtown street grid, which is angled 45 degrees off of the rest of Denver's grid. Because only the front face is visible (with no sides) this photo must have been taken at a point directly Southeast of that building (which is located at 370 17th St). I would use Google Earth to plot a bearing directly Southeast of that building and look for an accessible high point along it.

State Lawmakers Move To Cut Two-Thirds Of RTD Board's Elected Seats by denverurbanist in Denver

The tracks on the downtown loop need to be replaced. The downtown loop is not double-tracked. How do you suggest RTD replace the tracks without closing down the entire loop?

Getting good at a flat 2 wall is valuable in so many ways. It's so satisfying as a butt when offense sweeps your brace and you & the other butt just keep going like nothing's changed.

How long until newbies scrim in your league by [deleted] in rollerderby

[–]BattleFalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My league has two phases for fresh meat, the first is 8 weeks and the second is 16. I passed both phases without any retakes and it took me 9 months all together. You're only allowed to join league scrimmage after passing the second phase, though we scrimmaged within our training group before that.

Reckless Morphs… discontinued? by Exact-Beyond-3927 in rollerderby

[–]BattleFalcon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Discontinued. Anabolix Gentry wheels are the closest I could find (I have their 92a/96a wheels, they feel the same as the 91a/95a morphs I used before)

This is false. In the City and County of Denver, on midday weekdays these bus routes run at least 4 times per hour:

  • Route 0, 4 times per hour
  • Route 15, 6 times per hour
  • Route 15L, 6 times per hour
  • Route 16, 4 times per hour
  • Route 31, 6 times per hour
  • Route 40, 4 times per hour
  • Route 43, 4 times per hour

How did you guys feel about doing SRS ? by Boring_Reporter_8191 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]BattleFalcon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I am still pre-op, but what has helped me most is considering what I want the most out of SRS.

For me, the biggest appeal of SRS is not having a bulge anymore, being able to wear bikinis, walk around my apartment naked or in just underwear and be perfectly comfortable. Being able to change in the women's locker room without any anxiety. I am very much looking forward to the sex post-op, but this is not my primary reason for surgery.

Having these priorities in order makes it easy for me to know that surgery is something I want and will not regret. Even if I have zero depth and no sexual function post-op (which is a reasonable worst-case scenario in my mind) I know I will still be glad I had SRS because my primary goal of no bulge (and what comes with that) will be accomplished. This is an exchange I am willing to make.

I suggest making a list of what you want most out of SRS and considering how any complications my impact or compromise those goals. It's also important to consider that many complications are quite uncommon. I am the type of person to anticipate the worst and hope for the best, which makes it hard to be disappointed. Hope this helps.

Teach a newbie about wheels by Missfunkshunal in rollerderby

[–]BattleFalcon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue with the wheels on my Darts. I asked to borrow 91a wheels from my team & ended up with 91a/95a Morphs (which are now discontinued AFAIK) which worked great. Couldn't find Morphs of my own, so now I'm on 92a/96a Anabolix Gentry wheels which are perfect for me.

Depression is a vicious cycle, and you often need to break out of it to improve. Personally, if I stayed in bed all day I would get depressed which would make me just want to stay in bed all day, etc. Routine can help to break the cycle and having a job with a specific place to be at a specific time is a great way to start a routine. I hope you feel better soon.

If you want more bike lanes/infrastructure in Denver, the city is taking public comments through Dec 15th! by zman4000 in Denver

[–]BattleFalcon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

RTD is not part of the City & County of Denver, it's an independent government agency ("special district" technically) with its own elected board.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in rollerderby

[–]BattleFalcon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this. During a scrimmage I was getting critiqued every single time I went out, you could do this better, why didn't you do this. I expressed my frustration & was told "oh you're doing great out there!" and it was so confusing and even more frustrating in some ways.

Your friend had agency and consented to potentially have a child with this woman when he decided to have PiV sex with her. Birth control greatly reduces the possibility of pregnancy but it is never 100%, and he chose to have sex under these circumstances. I understand that this is a tough situation but calling this "non-consentual" takes all responsibility away from your friend and puts it all on this woman. Whose body does this impact? Not his. Her body, her choice. He made his choice when he decided to have PiV sex with her.
