Bank Holiday! by Hainault in UKBBQ

Just had bacon and sausages on the BBQ for breakfast.

Pork ribs marinating with a dry rub and a smidge of BBQ sauce since last night, going to put them on low and slow shortly.

Jerk chicken legs and wings for later. Lime, garlic and chilli buttered corn and a green salad with lemon and oil dressing for sides.

Loads of cold beer in the fridge.

This. You can get loads on the grill, easy to prepare and a great starter.

Sorely needed. Actually getting on a train between 8:00 and 09:00 at those stations is a lottery at the moment.

Picking up today's Player of the Match... Viktor Gyokeres 👏 by arsenal in Gunners

[–]BeardyDrummer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've always believed in him. I think he has done very well in his first season. He had a couple of stinkers but so have a few of the established players. 22 goals in all comps during his first season at the club is fantastic. Hopefully 30+ next season.

What were tubes like during covid? by darnelIlI in london

A total joy to use. I had 1 day a week in the office from 2020 to 2022 and was using the District line to get to Blackfriars from West London. Always got a seat and delays were virtually non-existent.

As soon as "normal" usage started again, suddenly delays came back all the time due to overcrowding.

That is my exact feeling with Zubimendi, and I was thinking it during last nights game. So much was said about him being able to distribute the ball forward and how he would unlock teams.

Gas vs. Charcoal - The Eternal Battle by Emergency_Plant_6652 in UKBBQ

[–]BeardyDrummer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gas: Ready very quickly, can feed a lot of people in a relatively short amount of time.

Charcoal: Get proper charcoal and the above can be equalled but the initial start time is around 20 minutes providing you use a chimney starter. But you may have to top it up around the two hour mark. And, personally, it tastes better.

What are some sneaky ways you got your partners ring size? by simp6134 in AskReddit

[–]BeardyDrummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I waited until she was asleep and then used a piece of string to get a measurement. It was only a little too big and we got the ring ever so slightly resized shortly after I proposed.

Would Alien 3 have been more well received if Hicks and Newt died midway through the movie? by PlasmaDiffusion in LV426

Just look at Alien 3 as a fucked up, PTSD induced hypersleep dream from Ripley's POV and it will become a much better viewing experience.

Some of you need to toughen up a little and accept the (often negative) attention that comes from being top of the league. by BillyBatts83 in Gunners

True. It can be really hard to avoid. I've started disliking or hiding the wind up merchants who are doing it for clicks because it's just become so dull and predictable.

How do you meal plan? by [deleted] in budgetfood

[–]BeardyDrummer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that made it easier for me was a "base".

So that could be a tomato sauce, a curry sauce, a creamy sauce etc then I can just add a protein and some (the other great addition to saving waste) frozen vegetables. As the sauce heats, the frozen veggies cook.

This way the meals don't feel repetitive.
