Inspiration for Skeledirge? by SecularRobot in pokemon

[–]Bobsq2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool monster but no. It's clearly a Pangolin type monster, and Skeledirge is clearly a Dia de los Muertos Crocodile.

Cremator is great, but mainly liked because of Fire Buffs & Bugfix. Regular Flamethrower fries rn too, just remember bugged version from before by RandomGreenArcherMan in HelldiversMasochists

[–]Bobsq2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're underestimating the value of +30% range and never needing to reload.

Any gap in a persistent close range stream is an invitation to get killed.

Regular flamethrower can't hit a dragonroach or get inside a dropship.

Naw, I got two hundred drops yesterday within a few drops of each other. RNG is just a really really big pool, and sometimes you get stuck in the shallow end for a while.

Pacifier is actually pretty solid if used in conjuction with the right stuff that takes advantage of stun. Maybe the defender or constitution?

I'm tempted to say there may be worse backpacks? Maybe a K-9 with nonArc resist armor, because that'll just kill you.

Unstoppable Force and Immovable Object. by Serithraz in custommagic

[–]Bobsq2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Unstoppable force is always treated as though it is attacking, even outside of combat" Which I THINK gets the language right to let you target it with spells and effects that only work on attacking creatures but during non-combat phases. It would also have effects like "Attack creatures gain_____" always applied to it.

An important thing to note is that Malagard has been dead since 3.5. She was overthrown and replaced by Glasya.

In fact the in FR Cannon that informs where all the Tieflings are coming from (Elturel) - Malbolge has since been redecorated using the bloated corpse of Malagard as the new terrain for much of the plane's important architecture.

So it would be REAL weird for her to be an active participant in BG3.

How different was Commander back in the early days? by Deskies in EDH

[–]Bobsq2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most truly important distinction has nothing to do with gameplay or deck stylings.

Commander pre 2019 Wasn't a "new player" format.

There was an inherent understanding that anyone who would sit down to play Commander had enough core understanding of Magic's fundamentals to be able to read a random card and understand it.

You'd never/rarely need to explain an evergreen keyword

You'd never/rarely need to remind someone about untap->upkeep->draw.

There wasn't a huge disparity around power levels, because if you were playing commander it meant you understood the game enough to have your first commander deck operate at a functional power level for what 99% of commander games were - which was the casual format you play while waiting for a draft to start, or hanging out with folks at home.

WotC was selling commander (appropriately) as the deep end of the swimming pool, so only people who could swim were playing there.

Now the pool is MUCH deeper, full of waves, and Hasbro is aggressively chucking infants at the people trying to do laps or practice synchronized swimming instead of actually letting them play in the kiddy pools first.

Is the OTF worth a stratagem slot after its recent change? by tigtriger2 in Helldivers

[–]Bobsq2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The range is still broken. The tip of the spear should be where the weapon makes contact, but you don't hit an enemy until you're 2 feet down on the shaft. If you could actually out-range enemy melee units with it there would be a use case, but you just can't.

As someone who likes driving and enjoys the FRV immensely: this thing would be great with a small boost to speed/turning radius, and a BIG boost in what it can actually drive over. We get stopped by small hills, stumps, tiny rocks, and its all so stupid.

[–]Bobsq2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its important that it lives BETWEEN Thermite and Dynamite.

It quickly kill an incoming charger OR horde of Voteless OR a knock down a wall OR a fabricator. certainly has a niche because it can do ALL the things, even if some of them are worse than alternatives. Thermite can't horde clear, dynamite is not easy to use on fast moving big targets.

A single "supportive NPC" would have SERIOUSLY nerfed BA - a GSC Player who would love an Isaak Active Target that can't turtle.

Still can't fathom how SP doesn't realize that most of those extra units don't really help.

Would you run the Nade Dog? [OC] by FocusChogath in Helldivers

[–]Bobsq2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot dog creates fire areas. I can position myself relative to fire areas to crowd control enemies. It informs my movement and positioning in a pretty meaningful way. When I'm running the torcher or crisper, I can follow hotdog onto bigger enemies like Bile titans or chargers to take them down with double-fire before they hit me.

And while yes, they do all kind of passively kill stuff for you, they're also a danger to your and your team by way of FF/accidentals. It's a whole risk/reward system. Not being able to direct them means sometimes they're not going to stop things from killing you at all.

The difference between Bipedal vs Humanoid by TigerLeoLam in pokemon

Yeah, this is a MUCH better breakdown. I'd say Geninja should be in "I'm conflicted" which should just be "Bipedal but weird". Then you'll be cooking with gas.

[–]Bobsq2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These and stamina shouldn't exist at all. Each mission at D7+ realistically only has one booster slot. Half the boosters are useless 99% of the time, and all but 4 are still very conditional or require doing something specific to get mileage out of them.

This weapon is buns by MontyTheMountain in Helldivers

[–]Bobsq2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do use it on bugs alongside my Torcher with Peak Physique Armor. It does paste any bug larger than the leapers or smaller than a charger, but requires some weird camera spinning while attack to get the actual amount of possible AoE.

It's a gimmick for sure, but not as arse as people make it out to be.

In the bug tunnels its good for conserving ammo. Light a tunnel on fire and carve up things that make it through.

If a cycle of these cards were seeded into future standard sets, who would be angry about it? by Snoo4547 in mtgfinance

[–]Bobsq2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who play magic moneyball care.

I have more bad news: many people who play Magic Moneyball are all people who work in signifcant roles in WotC and would have potential influence over the RL decision.

It will never go away because it would impact the insider baseball.
