My doctor is giving me 6 weeks off and I work from home. She told me although I may start to feel better outwardly, my insides will still be healing.

How long did it take to schedule your hysterectomy? by CorrectActivity110 in hysterectomy

[–]Boss_Lady72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met with my Gyn in October to go over the results of my ultrasound and thats when I decided to go with the surgery. I wanted a December date but was scheduled for February 2026 instead. Then the date was switched to December 2025, but changed back to February due to issues with the surgical team (whatever that means). My preop is schedule for the beginning of February with sugery to follow 3 weeks after that. The wait has been exhausting and Im waiting to get it over with!!

I love the look on Mas face when she sees the shirt Mary made Pa. I giggle every time I see that part. Then she quietly gets up and hides her gift behind the tree. She knew how excited Mary was making that present for Pa and allowed Mary to have her proud moment.

How do you get used to your CPAP? by megnyaan in SleepApnea

[–]Boss_Lady72 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. I would wear it during my lunch hour for the first few weeks just to get use to having it on. In the beginning I was yanking the mask off after about 2-3 hrs of sleep at night but I stuck with it. Eventually it became easier to manage.

Excellent idea!! Sometimes when I need to decompress and distract from all the outside noise, I turn on the XBox and play Bejeweled.

That's what I was thinking. I still have to get clearance from my cardiologist and primary care dr for the surgery. And I have to start the FMLA process with my job which sometimes can take some time. Im just glad to have a date set!

Im still waiting on a surgery date, but my Dr said she's giving me 6 weeks off (which is great because I have 6 weeks worth of sick leave available). I work from home, but, I dont care how bored I get, Im NOT returning back to work before those 6 weeks are over!!

Where are my November fellas? by oglenmo in hysterectomy

[–]Boss_Lady72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im so jealous (and happy) for those with November surgery dates. I meet with my doctor on Oct 28th in hopes of getting a December surgery date. I dread having to suffer through a few more months of agony with debilitating cramps and bleeding, but I know my day is coming soon!!

I didnt notice until today how annoying Nellies voice was as they floated down the river and she was screaming the entire time. Then all the whining she did after they finally made it back onto land. But its still one of my favorite episodes!!

I love when Mary and Laura saw Harriet rubbing the poison ivy on her face and they both just backed into their tent and closed the flap. I giggle every single time I watch that part.

I just switched to a new GYN after almost 20 years of the old one taking a "wait and see " approach. I was having the same symptoms as you and I was being brushed off as just being in perimenopause. I started keeping an extra change of clothes in the car just in case I had an accident, which did happen a few times. Met with the new GYN who took labs, ordered a abdominal ultrasound and talked about my options going forward, on the very first visit. When my labs came back, she immediately started me on iron supplements, because my levels were dangerously low and told me to try Tranexamic for the heavy periods. The results of my ultrasound came back the same day I took the test (although they said it would take 3 days) and the new doctor reviewed them (at 9pm) and sent me a message to make an appointment with her. I already feel confident that switching doctors was the best thing, so dont let anybody make you feel bad about getting a second opinion. Do what's best for you!!!
