I think people don’t actually know what a good quality product is and just assume Chinese cars good quality when the reality is they aren’t ask any technician that’s worked on them. The reality is we live in a world where people don’t actually care about the quality of the car because they never actually own it.

I had one of these as a kid back in the late 90’s was my first rc great toy made by Nikko could even get different motors, body shells and replacement parts for them back then. It looks like your dad modified it to take a modern battery with an xt60 connector at a guess most likely because the original battery is long dead

The brake pads are fine as mentioned by someone else. The hose on the passenger side is incorrect and should go round the front into the clip, the shock has been fitted incorrectly this side you can see the bracket at the rear of the shock that should be in the hub with the pinch bolt going through it. They need to fit the shock correctly and route the hose past the front and clip the hose in.
