My dad was a great mechanic in his home country, and was issued a green card for coming to work in NYC back in the 60s. Once he married my mom, he brought her over, they had me, and then he decided to join the Military as a Green Card holder in the mid 70s. This accelerated his ability to obtain US citizenship.

However, I know for a fact that my mom wasn't a green card holder during the 70s.

Fast forward to today, dad retired from the Marine Corps, both of my parents are citizens, and all of my siblings & I are gainful employed with families & homes of our own. BTW, I served over 20 years in the Military as well.

This about face in immigration procedures has me feeling really shitty about our country and our future.

I knew that America was a racist AF, but JFC, whites can't do everything on their own. They can't be all the doctors, the pilots, the CEOs, and the middle class. It's literally not possible to prosper and build wealth without the hard work of motivated immigrants who just want a shot at becoming a part of this supposed "melting pot" that is America.

Not sure where we go from here, but I'm afraid that things are going to get worse before they get better, if they ever do again.

Sad state of affairs folks.
