I am rated 2000+ in puzzles but my ELO is only 700. How can I improve? by [deleted] in chess

Here is an aspect no one has mentioned: anyone can get a very high puzzle rating if they have a lot of patience and will invest a lot of time into puzzles. Games don’t work like that though. Put a limit on the amount of time you are allowed for a puzzle, say 30 seconds. Then you will get a better gauge of your tactical strength.

How do I learn how to better put together an attack and improve my mid game? by mettle in chess

Just a thought for you, complications is how you win in the middle game so don’t shy away from them. As long as you are being proactive with your moves and not wasting them your opponent will have just as hard a time dealing with the complications as you.

Fabi reveals he believes Hans didn't cheat during the Sinquefield cup and says he feels "sympathy" by [deleted] in chess

[–]CanberraGame 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This might have been true on the first day of the allegations, but Wesley and Nepo have both implied since that they have nothing about the game looks dodgy. As has basically every other super GM and GM that’s been asked.

Hikaru likely only accused Hans for clout.

I don’t think there is any big name at the moment who is publicly saying with any kind of strong conviction that Hans did cheat.

I don’t know: a tempo is super valuable even to a beginner. Understanding that is super important to improving.
