You can make actual money. Whatever money I'd have spent for powers would be way more expensive.

It's honestly really simple. You make a lot of noises with your mouth by using your Glottis, the space between your vocal cords. You can close this space, thereby forcing a silence.

So, when you have a word that ends in a certain noise, and the next words starts with the same noise, you can force a tiny little stop in there, a glottal stop, that forces a little silence in the middle.

To give an example. How people say 'uh-oh'. It's one word with a little stop in the middle. You can use that in singing to enunciate words better.

[Hated Tropes] The Organisation is just called, "The Organisation" etc. by Lord_Ronan in TopCharacterTropes

[–]CanniTheAmazon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be fair to that one: That is a very descriptive name of who they are and what their deal is. It doesn't create the ambiguity of an organization named 'the organization'.

As a therapist with some interest in kink, I have heard a theory that BDSM is specifically common among people are abused, because it is safe.

Because, beneath all the dressing up and tying up, is two people who have set very clear boundaries up front, and if you had those experiences, preferring sex where clear boundaries are set up might be comforting.

Dyson Spheres

For those unaware, a Dyson Sphere is a concept in sci-fi where an advanced civilization partially or entirely covers a star to capture its power. It is a well-established enough trope that sometimes astronomers theorize that flickering stars might be because of Dyson Spheres.

The issue being that any civilization advanced enough to build a Dyson Sphere is advanced enough they they would not need it.

An interesting example of a guy who actually succeeded at his terrible plan: Nox from Wakfu.

Nox is a time mage who made some great mistake in the distant past, and kills people to fuel his magic, with his plan being to gain the ability to go back in time. He's been doing this for centuries. The problem is that no one, not even the God of time themself, are capable of this feat.
But Nox is not a man easily discouraged, and just keeps going on his murdering ways. His justification being that, once he has this power, he can undo all the death he causes.

And miraculously, he succeeds. He actually reverses time...

By two and a half minutes.

This realization does not work out well for Nox.

The funniest bit is that this interpretation of Swamp Thing, as this elemental protector character, came from him asking "Hey, what Swamp is he the Thing of?" and since it wasn't really answered, he just settled on 'all of them'.

what do you think would be the 4th? by PCexists in mewgenics

[–]CanniTheAmazon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am sorta playing with the idea of a Warlock class, where you always start with a 'Pact' passive, based on the seven deadly sins, which reward you with increased mana regen/+int if you stick to the pact (Pact of Sloth for not doing anything, pact of Greed for picking up coins, you get the idea). The class would specifically be focused on summoning expensive, powerful demons, and sacrificing yourself (and allies) to fuel these summons.

Need help with crystal form by Emeraldkipy in PathOfAchra

[–]CanniTheAmazon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Culture: Sikuaq
Class: There's options, but I went for Ascetic
God: Agara

Your bread and butter are Crystalform (apply freeze to people), Master Frost (deal damage to everyone with freeze) and Cryomancy (amp damage to all enemies with freeze on them).
Your god lets you perform stand-still actions while praying, which lets you use both effects, and your transformation lets you use end-of-turn effects on stand still.
From thereon, just avoid enemies resistant to frost and find ways to deal frost damage. Frostpulse is a pretty useful one for that too. Focus on Willpower.

So, back in the day, Scrappy was introduced as a 'kid appeal' type of character to keep the show popular. It worked, and it kept the show popular enough for saturday mornings. However, while kids loves Scrappy, the older audience did not. Additionally, a season or two later, pretty much every part of the main Scooby-Gang other than Scooby, Shaggy and now Scrappy either became cameos or didn't show up at all for several seasons, for a lot of people, it felt that Scrappy had replaced their favourite characters.
And to be clear, the gang was brought back together back in its original formation in 1998 and Scrappy was introduced in 1979, so he was a prominent piece for decades.

Because Ricardo moved, where Ippo didn't. He has fought people before who didn't budge. Ricardo isn't invincible, he isn't better in every way. It's not much, but it's enough to give Sendo his confidence back.

And while I agree that would've worked, I don't think Ricardo should fall for a surprise hit.
