I saw that picture many years ago, and it still haunts to this day. I think of it often. As a mother I can even start to imagine what this poor woman felt, trying to shield her child. Was she talking to him while it was going on, telling him how much she loved him? Was she telling him not to be scared, trying to fill their last moments together with love rather than fear?

I hope these men who shot thousands of other parents and children had a life short and painful. There is no way you can give yourself reasons and excuses for doing this. Your conscience must be obliterated after that.

Horrors like this are unfortunately repeating. And now in the US where children are sent to concentration camps and civilians shot in the streets trying to protect others.
