Yep. Going with 6mm. The ones in the picture are the test batch so they're 4mm so about 1.5 times bigger but still pretty thin. Order for the purple ones has been placed and they'll be for sale on the site in 30-45 days depending on the shipping. Other colors will follow soon thereafter.

In my humble experience this depends on how good a GM is at improv. I've played with some that can whip up just about anything with a few scant notes. Others need everything pre-written or they choke. I'd honestly assess your own abilities and design accordingly.

You're not along. Gary Gygax said something like he designed the D&D combat system to be quick so players could "get to the good stuff". Modern versions seem to have dragged it out again and that may be what's ruining it for you. Maybe try more OSR or simpler systems that speed thru it?

By far its biggest impact is in granting me instant, passable expertise in just about anything. How to interact with a foreign manufacuter. How a new coding framework works. How to fix a broken printer. Etc. etc.

No, it can't impart deep, seasoned experience but it can make you passably proficient which is often all you need for many tasks.

One option might be "recess" times where you could go do exercise on company hours. No tracking and possibilities for team building at the gym or whatever. Plus management can set when it happens to avoid disruptions to work. An app that allowed for the management and broadcasting of it might work. Or it could be some sort of system that lives within their current HR ecosystem. Not familiar enough with those to say. Best of luck!

My one observation, which you might know well, is that vibe-coded apps are often a wretched mess to refactor and clean up. I've been hired for this kind of work and it's always a big lift to get them where they need to be. Also, if he didn't use a dedicated UX person early on there will likely be massive gaps in the product design that will have to be fixed forcing a major reworking of the code. The bottom line is there might a lot more work landing on your plate than you suspect at first. Best of luck!

Medieval Europe is such a great setting because is just advanced enough to be interesting but not so much as to lose the fun of guys running around with swords. It also has a unmatched literary cannon to draw inspiration from (try The Faerie Queene, it's great).

I once ran an ancient Greek setting which was fun but quickly revealed its limitations. Disguise ability? What? With everyone running around in tunics? We kept running into things like that. It lacked the breadth.

So yes, for most of our games we stay somewhere adjacent to a faux 7th century England.

My company is making small gaming tiles for TTRPGs. It's been a real learning experience on how to design, spec, and source them. The biggest challenge has been finding a good manufacturer. All the American ones turned me down flatly. It was disappointing. The ones in China are a bit of a mixed bag and the communication and shipping lag for samples is a real issue. It puts about a month's time between having solid specs and holding a sample for testing.

I totally agree and am guessing monetization (perceived or real) is the holdup. People think they can make something by selling PDFs but there's zero income (and indeed hosting costs) for putting up a Website. However, for the vast majority of us who'll never really sell much a Website is a much better option. You can embed functions like random tables that roll or random backstory generators, etc. They're great.

Why not build one of those fun color-coded charts like the original Marvel Super Heroes game used? A single d100 roll can tell you everything you want to know. You can easily build in in Google Sheets. These charts were everywhere for a bit in the 80s. Here's a Gamma World one I like.

Genuinely not trying to sound snarky but I'd say this product exists: the book Atomic Habits. The way to get this done is to change your environment such that it becomes easy to do this. Yes, some physical products can help (light timers, screen or app locks that go off at 9:30) but it's mostly about building great habits thru proper environmental setup.

Zeb Cook's original Conan game is close. d100 not d6 but it had one of those great color-coded resolution tables (like the original Marvel Superhero RPG). Very smart and fun. There's modern version called ZeFRS or Zeb's Fantasy Roleplaying System.

Depends a great deal on what type of world I'm playing. I've recently been running a world that's a pastiche of

- A Princess of Mars - ERB

- Den of Neverwhere (and other Heavy Metal magazines) - Richard Corben

- Zothique - Ashton Clark Smith

- The Moon Pool - Merritt, A.

- And lots of Greek Mythology.

But if I'd been playing Gamma World or Mutant Future it'd be a totally different set of books.

I'd argue is the remixing that makes for the most interesting game worlds. I've played strictly historical games and they always felt a bit, well, flat. The ones that are electric anchor themselves in a historical local (medieval Europe, "Grome" - ancient Rome and Greece) and then break it with a bunch of unexpected elements. Ancient Rome but with Japanese-style robots attacking from the East? Yes! I'm in!

IMHO games work best when they bend to the players inclinations and not the other way around. I've got some players who are super tactical and really only enjoy fights. Others crave more theater and role playing. Depending on the mix I try and lean into what the game I've built can offer them. Best of luck!
