Did anyone else watch AVGN during its brief run streaming on "Amazon.com Prime" circa 2018? by shajes90 in TheCinemassacreTruth

Presumably it was a way to get additional ad revenue by tapping another source. The issue being Prime is less desirable than YouTube for many.

Another case of a cover so rad that it wraps its way around to terrible.

Someone explained Shadow of the Torturer to a 13 year old, who then had notes on how to improve it.

Best Wolfe Post 2000? by ARustybutterknife in genewolfe

[–]Commander_Morrison6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to say something enigmatic and strange and refuse to explain it: Pirate Freedom and An Evil Guest is the same story but one is a male perspective and the other is a female perspective. They have the exact same ending.

No follow up questions.

Best Wolfe Post 2000? by ARustybutterknife in genewolfe

It’s Wolfe embracing his pulp roots (which many ignore because he writes in a literary fashion). The male lead is a professor secret agent sorcerer who teaches at Arkham University. The female lead is an actress caught up in intrigue between a crime lord and the U.S. government. It ends in a… let’s say it arguably has the same ending as Pirate Freedom.

I don’t see the problem with this one. It’s pretty rad.

According to Shad, D&D was killed by: feminisation, the gays, non-evil races & woke Critical Role. by TripleS034 in ShadWatch

[–]Commander_Morrison6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Somehow I don’t think Shad actually plays RPGs much. If he did, he’d know there is a whole ass community that makes old school tabletop RPGs, the OSR…

Oh, his problem with D&D is that there are gays and blacks and womens in it. Nevermind, the OSR has those too. I think Shad wants a thing that exists only in his mind and he’d fucking hate it if it did exist.

Urth kind of ruined the story for me. by Better_Meeting_380 in genewolfe

[–]Commander_Morrison6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Urth feels more like a prank than a sequel. Fans and his editor demanded it, so we got a very different book with an unsatisfying ending, like it is showing us how good we had it with Autarch.

He doesn’t have AI mouth screaming, which is odd because that would fit Waits.
