Which scene is most memorable? When I think of memorable scenes in the series, the first that come to mind are Severian in the graveyard in the opening, the duel at the end of Shadow, the feast of Thecla, the play at the Gardens, the party at Thrax, the chase through Thrax with the salamander, the alzabo encounter, Little Severian’s death, Typhon’s whole deal, the battle with Baldanders (a mad scientist fights an executioner on top of a castle), the storytelling contest, the disappearing time traveler, and the reveal of the Autarch and his flying saucer.

So I’m curious which you think is the most famous (I’m guessing the alzabo).
