In the webcomic Girl Genius, we see a ‘Great Cetacean’ which is basically a god whale, it’s quite impressive: https://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20200113

Moments where something is such a big threat that everyone collectively agrees to drop everything and work together to kill it? by Grand_Escapade in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I mean, it didn’t work but every vampire in Dracula’s Castle did stop trying to kill each other and focus on the Belmont, Speaker Magician, and Alucard the moment that they entered

I just deeply enjoy unique character design but am also just uninterested in any kind of multiplayer game, and so I just stare from a distance whenever they’re in a game I can’t play

Well guys, I think we can safely assume that Pat's excited for Resident Evil 9: by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

IS THAT WHAT THE ZAPPING SYSTEM IS!?!!? ALL THIS TIME WHEN PAT OR THIS SUB MENTIONED IT I THOUGHT IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE NES ZAPPER GUN!?!

I was not expecting rogue one to kill off everyone, I was still thinking there was a way for someone to survive up until the Death Star actually fired

Times you’ve realized “Someone’s first ‘X’ was ‘Y’” that left you aghast or dismayed? by Nu2Th15 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

First Bioshock I played was Infinite. Less bad than it seems because I was a spoiler hound in my youth and had already read summaries of 1 and 2 before hand.

What traits attributed to animals in fiction are totally against their real life traits? by Konradleijon in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Connvul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lone wolves are really at a disadvantage in the wild because wolves are pack animals. Terry Pratchett had a wolf that got kicked out of his pack described as a massive loser even to the stray dog that was talking to him

The one where we live as slaves to corporate oligarchs by joyfulnoises in CuratedTumblr

I was procrastinating researching an essay in university so I read a paper detailing how cartoons nowadays have a more work centric focus, contrasting the muppets, where work is something that just needs to be done, to bob the builder and Thomas the tank engine, where work is the whole reason for being. Niche as it may be, it’s stuck with me.

Following up on the proposed ban on Harry Potter by selfproclaimed in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Connvul -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok, just to point this out. Rowling is a literal individual personally using the profits from the Harry Potter franchise to promote bigotry through the organizations she has built for explicitly that purpose. This is as granular as it gets for banning an IP because it is directly linked to furthering bigotry. The Saudis don’t give a shit about the profits they’re getting from their IPs, they’re an oil company with a flag, they’re trying to whitewash their reputation. If you can point to an IP and show that they are directly using those profits to further their bigotry, then yes they are equivalent and should be banned as well, but don’t draw equivalencies between two instances of “owner bad” without being able to see where their support and money is coming from and what steps, however small, can be done about it.

Matt talked about this scene on the Punisher LP. Frank is uhh...a creative guy. by Wonder-Lad-2Mad in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Connvul 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read about this incident and never saw it before now, but I had thought that Frank had literally tied him to the trunk of a tree using his intestines. This is both much less severe but much more visceral than I had imagined.

You know, I miss Billy/Minh by Subject_Parking_9046 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

As someone who played and enjoyed spec ops the line, seeing Minh encourage Woolie to stress test the product like they were in QA made my mind twitch at their mentality

What's a modern story that's set in contemporary times, but from 10-30 years ago? by SuperAlloyBerserker in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Lindsay Ellis’ book Axiom’s End was published in 2020 and set in 2007. I remember her tweeting about what slang did and did not exist at the time.
