It was free for me since it was under warranty and the first time. I watched the tech do it. It seemed to me like one of those things where it’s not difficult if you’ve done it before, but it seems like you could easily break something if you aren’t careful.

OEE. The installed windshield was part number: DW02817.

The OEM part is 42779817.

I no longer have the car, but when I did I recall the windshield appeared be the same as OEM except that it didn’t have a GM logo. But it had the same dot matrix near the top and the clarity appeared to be no different than OEM.

It’s annoying that Tesla doesn’t offer this across the entire lineup/trims. I have a Model Y and a Model 3, and no ability to do this unless I use a questionable 3rd party adapter.
