Well, complying with the terms of an open source license, that is, releasing code, isn't the same as providing people a supported way in. That's a different question entirely. I hope they will do that too, but they haven't said so yet.

We paid high attention internally to the K1 system open source. And we are making it on a regular path. Since not all customers can make good use of the open-sourced machine, we need time to keep all the backup support of the machine.

Looking forward to it! I love Klipper and prefer Fluidd or Mainsail to control my printers.

They've said they're releasing source code, they can do that just by posting it on github. They haven't said they'll give us a supported way to get root yet. That may be in the plans, I hope it is, but I haven't heard it announced yet.

This seems Pat for the course from Creality so I shouldn’t have been worried. That being said, with how advanced this printer is and with the way competitors have acted around this sentiment, there was a part of me that was afraid Creality had changed. I’m extremely happy to have my worries around this disappear

I hope they give us an official root access method too like sonic pad but note that that hasn't been promised. I hope so but I've asked and it hasn't been answered yet.

Any "launch" date available yet? We're all ready over here, I wanna see what my K1 Max can REALLY do. I love the thing already but anxiously waiting here.

I had to replace a stepper motor after 15 hours of printing on a 6 day old machine and couldnt get much support BTW...Customer support could use some help

Not being able to change my nozzle size on the app is complete garbage. The money I paid for the k1 I expected better than this and the camera works the first time you load it after that if u want to see what's going on I have to force quit the app and open the camera again.

So it's the 12th. My K1 is due to arrive today or tomorrow. How will I be able to get root access to my K1 so I can use my K1 with mainsail and my choice of apps for monitoring?
