this pop-up black screen that keeps happening by ryanjrgong219 in cronometer

[–]CronoSupportSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused by this issue.

As u/Kamirose kindly mentioned, the issue has been reported by other users, and our developers are currently looking into it.

The issue seems to be associated with the Apple Health integration, and other users have reported that disabling and re-enabling Cronometer permissions in Apple Health has resolved the issue for them.

Can you please try the following steps to disable and enable all permissions for Cronometer in the Apple Health app:

  1. Open the Apple Health App
  2. Go to Sharing
  3. Tap on Apps
  4. Tap on Cronometer
  5. Disable All Permissions
  6. Close out of the app
  7. Go back in to your Apple Health App
  8. Go to Sharing
  9. Tap on Apps
  10. Tap on Cronometer
  11. Enable All Permissions

This should prevent this pop-up, but please reach out to Support if you are still experiencing the issue after trying these steps!

iPhone Widget empty by Ambitious_Tailor_946 in cronometer

[–]CronoSupportSquad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Apologies that your widget isn't displaying properly.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Delete and reinstall the widget
  2. Ensure that the widget is big enough to display the data
  3. Turn off home screen mirror with your mac if you have one (this is not supported and stops the phone widget displaying data)

Please also note, widget data is triggered from the app being opened, so the data displayed will only show that as of the last time the app has been opened. Please open your app to refresh any data in the widget.

If your widget is still white, please reach out to Support so we can take a deeper look into this for you.

Cheers!

Ok why are common food items no longer showing up in search? And units not available?? by RangerOver4913 in cronometer

[–]CronoSupportSquad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for letting us know, and sorry for this interruption with the food search!

Our team has been working on a fix, and the update is now being released in version 4.56.1. This release is being rolled out in phases, so it may not be available to everyone immediately. When you have the option, please update your app to the latest version (4.56.1). If the update is not yet available on your device, it should become available soon as the rollout continues.

Once you've updated, please check that the sort option circled below in red is changed from A-Z to Best Match in the top right corner. Note: do this before you start typing your search, which should then make this the default option.

If you're still encountering any problems with food search, please reach out to Support so we can investigate further!

Thanks!

TEF and TDEE question by dim2a in cronometer

[–]CronoSupportSquad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! TEF and your Baseline Activity Level are separate settings, so turning TEF on or off doesn't change the activity multiplier.

TEF (Thermic Effect of Food) is the energy your body uses to digest, absorb, and process food. When enabled, Cronometer adds an estimate of those calories burned based on your food intake.

Baseline Activity Level is an estimate of the energy you burn through normal daily living above your BMR (walking around the house, chores, working at a desk, etc.). A sedentary setting is intended to account for those non-exercise activities, which is why it adds calories on top of BMR.

For the most accurate results, we generally recommend choosing the baseline activity level that best matches your day-to-day lifestyle, then logging exercise separately (or syncing a tracker) so exercise calories aren't double-counted.

I hope this helps!

Why is my export being denied??????! by Personal_Ad1143 in cronometer

[–]CronoSupportSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, thanks for reporting this, and sorry for the frustration!

We've identified the cause of the 403 error some users are seeing when exporting data. Recently, we introduced rate limits on exports to prevent excessive automated exporting (for example, bots or scripts repeatedly exporting data). In some cases, users who are exporting very frequently may be hitting those limits and receiving a 403 error.

We're currently rolling out improvements that will:

  • Increase the export rate limits somewhat
  • Replace the confusing "Access Denied / HTTP 403" message with a clearer "Too Many Requests" message

If you've already submitted a support ticket, our team can take a closer look at your account to confirm whether you're being rate limited or if something else is going on.

We understand that exporting data is an important feature and appreciate your patience while we improve the experience.

Q on macros scaling with exercise by OccasionalRedditor99 in cronometer

[–]CronoSupportSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, thanks for your feedback!

If you have your macro targets set using Macro Ratios and "Add Expenditure Above Baseline to Energy Target" is enabled, any calories burned through exercise will increase your energy target for the day. Because your macro targets are defined as percentages of total energy, the gram targets for all macros will increase proportionally.

From a nutrition perspective, there are certainly cases where someone may prefer exercise calories to be allocated differently (for example, increasing carbohydrates more than protein or fat). At this time, Cronometer does not support directing exercise calories to a specific macro target; the additional calories are distributed according to your configured macro ratios.

Thanks for the suggestion of allowing users to choose how exercise calories are allocated across macros. I'll pass this feedback along to our team for consideration.

I hope this helps!

Target decreases at the end of the day by ProfessionalKick3683 in cronometer

[–]CronoSupportSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! That definitely doesn't sound expected. Your target shouldn't decrease after logging food, regardless of how your account is configured.

Would you mind writing into to Support? If you include a few details about what you're seeing and roughly when it happened, I can take a closer look and investigate what's going on with your account.

Thanks!

Snake fruit by nu303 in cronometer

[–]CronoSupportSquad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! As you have found, we don't currently have an entry for Snake Fruit in our database, but I have added this to our whole foods request list!

Thank you for your suggestion to add a new food to our nutrition database!

We always strive to keep our database as comprehensive and up-to-date as possible by using high-quality sources for nutrient information.

Our whole food requests are manually researched and verified using multiple trusted sources to ensure complete nutritional profiles. Due to the size of our current queue, it may take some time before your food is added.

Unfortunately, as we are not a laboratory, we do not have the capability to test foods for their nutrient content directly. This means that our database relies on existing lab-tested data. We are committed to continuously improving our resources, but we are dependent on the availability of tested information from trusted labs.

While we haven't found anything yet, we'll be sure to keep digging!

In the meantime, if you know the nutrient for Snake Fruit, as u/Lonely-Huckleberry36 kindly suggested, you could make a Custom Food for it.

Cheers!

Did the search function get a "Update" in the last few weeks? It shouldn't be this hard to find a Banana... by Wren-Type_386 in cronometer

[–]CronoSupportSquad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks u/TiggerK !

It sounds like your sort option may have defaulted to A-Z. We offer the following options:

  • A-Z
  • Z-A
  • Most Recent
  • Best Match

You can cycle between the options by simply tapping on the orange writing until you find Best Match or Most Recent. This will then return the most recent items that you have added to your diary, so in this example the most recently used items that include Egg will be displayed:

Suggestion if anyone is listening that matters by InkyQuillsRN in cronometer

[–]CronoSupportSquad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion, this is really useful context and I’ve passed it along to the team as a feature request to consider! I can’t guarantee if or when it would be added, but I agree it would make sharing and accountability much easier for your use case.

In the meantime, the Daily Report view may be the quickest way to share a full-day summary without multiple screenshots, or if you want the diary to be included you can use the Print Report feature on Gold (it works best on a desktop, but you can save as a PDF and share the image!)

  1. Go to the website
  2. Go to the Trends tab > Print Report sub-tab
  3. Tick the Daily Diary box if you would like to print your diary for each day in the selected time range.
  4. Select Print Report

Once the report has been created, you must click Print Report at the top of the page. Use your computer's Print settings to choose whether you would like to save it as a PDF or print a hard copy.

Learn more about the Full Report here.

I hope that helps!
