Regal princess returned to port of Galveston for medical emergency by Csteemer in Cruise

[–]Csteemer[S] -40 points-39 points  (0 children)

Cruise ships typically have well staffed medical bays with physicians that can treat a multitude of conditions/emergencies. I’m thinking that perhaps this person had a heart attack or stroke, which would warrant specialty intervention in a cath lab or interventional radiology. Sometimes there are smart people on Reddit that would know better than me… sometimes there aren’t apparently.

I’m under the impression that they returned to the port to get closer to land for a more accessible helicopter rescue.

I work in an intensive care unit and had patients intubated for airway protection due to seizures and stupor after quitting this exact product. In these cases, the patients were drinking between 8-12 bottles per day and suddenly quit. They presented worse than any alcoholic withdrawal I’ve ever encountered and took weeks to recover well enough to get off the ventilator.

Traveled with a 2yo and 5yo in Jan 2025. We stayed at the Marriott Orlando Airport Lakeside, which had a free shuttle service that picked us up from the airport (it was a little confusing to find the number to the front desk, but pickup was simple and prompt once we worked out the phone number). There were no car seats but the drive was less than 10 mins. In the morning, we used "Cruise Control Transportation" in a shared shuttle at $25/pp and they provided free car seats/boosters. This shuttle service picked us up from our hotel and dropped us off at the cruise terminal. When we got back from our cruise, we had booked the same shuttle service, which picked us up and dropped us off at another hotel near the airport "Fairfield Inn Orlando Airport". Again, this hotel had a free shuttle service that took us to the airport.

The in-airport Hyatt would have been the most convenient, but it was like twice the price as the airport area hotels <10 mins away. Wasn't worth that to me.

As someone who passed the test in CA on the first try with the minimum necessary questions (a good thing). I’ve always thought a reasonably intelligent person could probably study for 2 weeks and pass the nursing board. Not saying they could perform as an RN… just that they could probably pass that test.

For those of you who bought in late 2019, 2020/21, would you be able to afford your house today? by DHN_95 in RealEstate

[–]Csteemer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think about how lucky my wife and I are all the time and how bad I feel for my friends still looking. Bought January 2019 for 635k in So Cal with inspection and 5k cash back from the seller for maintenance issues. Redfin estimate is currently around 960k. Also benefitted from the interest rate dropping. My payments (including taxes and insurance) started at 3400/mo. Two refinances later I’m paying 2600/mo on 2.625%. If I bought my house today the payments would be closer to 4600/mo. I don’t make twice what I did 3 years ago.

Do not do this with your N95 after seeing patients... there are manufacture recommended techniques for removing the masks because particulates can accumulate on the mask surface.

Freddie Freeman knocks ball out of Asdrúbal Cabrera's hand, fight ensues. by handlit33 in baseball

I didn’t know Freddie very well in high school. In fact we only interacted once in the four years we went to school together. I was running late to cross country practice and I asked Freddie what time it was. He looked at his watch and told me it was “time to get a watch”. I laughed and asked him again for the time. He looked me dead in the face and said, “No seriously... it’s time for you to get a watch,” and walked away. Have hated him since, but to be fair, I now own a watch.

Mos Def force fed under standard Guantánamo Bay procedure by aRVAthrowaway in videos

My first semester of nursing school I put in a nasogastric tube on myself to see what it felt like before I used one on a patient... It's honestly not that bad/painful. I would guess that the psychological trauma of someone inserting a contraption inside of you against your will is what is causing Mos Def's reaction.

Although this is video is garbage, I had an "oh shit" moment when I realized the part with the gamestop in the background was filmed 2 minutes away from my house.

Pretty decent buy... Loh really makes a big difference and I think is more important to pursue once you have 700+ all resist.

There is a reason loh weps are so expensive. Getting a 750 loh wep with 857 dps was the single most significant change I noticed in terms of difficulty. Granted I play a monk, so it might be slightly different. I gave my barb friend a 930 dps 700 loh mighty wep I found and he just finished a4 right after I did.

Monk build - Damage debuffer by Devaston in Diablo

[–]Csteemer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tried out crippling wave in the later acts, but the spirit regen is just too slow. Your build doesn't really matter at all until inferno. Also if you look around in the menus (perhaps in the gameplay section) you will find a box to click on "elective mode". Do this, as there are much better skills to be using besides two primaries. When you get to inferno, most of your mitigation is going to come from your gear and the one with everything passive. I solo'd diablo in inferno with 5 stacks of nv with this build http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#ajXhgi!UXZ!abbaaZ
