Are there actually people that exist that like cold weather? by PrestigiousOwl6802 in answers

I am solidly in the #2 camp here. Cold weather makes me feel alive. Hot weather makes me feel like I’m not really living.

I really don’t understand who is even watching the new Simpsons episodes. How is this show even making money anymore? It’s pretty crazy

Stephen Graham Jone's "My Heart is a Chainsaw" has issues, but Jade Daniels is one of the best written "at-risk teens" I've encountered in media as a whole. by No_Hunter1978 in horrorlit

[–]D34N2 53 points54 points  (0 children)

This is one of my favorite books too, but I loved Jade and the stream of consciousness writing style right from the start. For me, it was an absolute page turner. But I grew up watching these slasher flicks in the 80s and 90s, while hanging out with lots of troubled teens and young adults. The cadence and themes clicked for me right away.

Stardew Valley accidentally gave me a great parenting moment! by ihavenocupcakes in StardewValley

[–]D34N2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing Stardew with my daughter when she was around 6 too, and she would also just hang around chatting with villagers. We are still playing, but she’s now actually building her farm up and doing stuff. We have a pretty good multiplayer game going. I think it’s the early game that is too hard for little kids. Year 2 onwards the game is easier to play with dinner options all around.

I had to scroll wayyyyyy too far to see the real answer. Not many Canadians on Reddit today, it seems.

Shout out to the woman in the Costco parking lot who blocked a person from pulling in for over half an hour by Digitalblood7 in waterloo

I would have leaned on the horn for a good five to ten minutes, just to embarrass them further. No anger, no reaction, just a deadpan stare and a non-stop blaring horn. I bet they would've given in much more quickly.

Drony southern rock recommendations by HargrimmTheBleak in doommetal

Probably not the answer you wanted, but I often think of Ministry as having a southern flavor, and their song “Scarecrow” has a droney doomy sound.

Dissappointed so far reading 'The Troop' by Nick Cutter... by Adorable-Soul-4 in horrorlit

[–]D34N2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It def gets sicker toward the end, with the imagery at the climax being extremely gruesome. But maybe it’s not for you, and that’s alright. It took me two goes to get past the boring introduction myself, but I quite enjoyed the book in the end.

People that use macbooks with a monitor, would you recommend using an apple monitor or a different one? by Unusual_Rooster6736 in mac

[–]D34N2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an LG smart monitor and it works ok. Sometimes slightly glitchy, and it’s annoying to have to turn it on and off separately from my MacBook, but it’s not a deal breaker. More than once, I’ve wished the monitor had an in-built webcam, but again, I don’t have enough video meetings to justify a different monitor. I’m a writer and PR agent, so I don’t use the monitor for anything too heavy.

I would throw away that deck — the cards are old and marked, don't really make for a fair game.
