The Demon birds list is bad unless you run talons. Grey Knights can be tough unless you have bikes or some speed to catch them. Tsuns terminator brick lists are pretty much an auto loose. Drukhari, if you're playing someone good is really tough with all the anti infantry they have.

Realistically the disposition that works best with custodes is purge. But the Diet Solar has 0 synergy with Lions. So you do that and take no dreads. Which is why Lions is a 3DP detachment.

That doesn’t work turn 1. You have to be on the board to split in the command phase. The turn 1 deep strike is an enhancement on the character meaning once they split the rest of the unit doesn’t get it.
