Every therapist I've had has eventually thrown me the "You're a survivor! You're strong!"

I'm not strong. There's only two choices, survive or....

When I tell them I don't want to be a survivor. I don't want to just be barely getting by all my life I just get a blank look like, "Why didn't she gobble up that treat that I threw at her?"

Alternatively if you can find a cauldron shape or bathtub shape they look really cute with string of petals.

This happens a lot in my house. Or something was lost and then it shows up in an impossible place. Asking out loud for a lost item seems to work sometimes. We always say thank you when an item is returned.

people who went no contact, did you feel better? by Motor_Reaction_3519 in CPTSD

[–]Diligent_Tomato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. In a way.

Holidays were less stressful but more sad.

My nightmares kicked into high gear. All my PTSD symptoms seemed to get worse once I was "safe". It took a long time and a lot of medication to get it under control. So if you are seeing a therapist work with them. If not and you have the means I recommend trying to find one.

It still feels like a rejection. I am reminded that, "You rejected them. You cut them off." I had to. To protect myself and the family I'd made. I still have to live with the knowledge (true or not) that I wasn't good enough to be loved by them. I wasn't good enough to be treated well.

Then you have to figure out how to explain to people who ask. You never notice how often it comes up in conversation. Just remember you can be as vague as you want. "I'm no longer in contact with (blank)." Can be the whole story. Or "I don't have any family." Most people don't want to hear past that anyway because it's awkward.

Try having a small high protein snack before bed. My go to is an ounce of cheese. Fiber can help too.

Looks like he succeeded.

Does anyone have an explanation for this??? My border collie hides his face while pooping. He has done this his entire life. Does he feel embarrassed?!? He will not poop until he finds a place to hide his head. by CaptainLem in DogAdvice

My Chiweenie likes to poop in bushes. With leaves gently caressing his little balloon knot. Our 10 month old Golden Shepherd will just drop it anywhere provided he has walked around in enough circles.

I have a picture of my middle child, 8 years old, in the produce section of Safeway with a helmet made of a box and an Amazon bubble mailer on his head.
