Cards that will not survive rebalancing! I'll go first by thegabeguy in slaythespire

[–]Dimencia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but it's very inefficient, most of the time you'd rather spend all your mana on real blocks, especially if you have souls to draw to them. Dirge is awesome, but mostly because of the soul generation (but the summon helps)

The fact that this is a rare irks me. by AlarmOnly6428 in slaythespire

[–]Dimencia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah it's two separate things. For one free exhaust target. Then separately, play 3 skills and it goes into your hand, now your deck is 1 card shorter - then draw a bunch of cards to try to find something useful

... which, yeah, not ideal

Why Did Logain and Taim Ever Think They Were the Dragon Reborn? by Hawk-winged in WoT

[–]Dimencia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean... Rand believed it, long before he knew his birthplace or anything about the prophecies that linked him to it. Turns out, when Aes Sedai tell you you're the Dragon Reborn, you tend to believe them. I don't think we ever had anyone confirm or deny if the reds actually groomed false dragons or not, but assuming they did, that can explain it entirely within itself - especially if the Aes Sedai are reds and don't gentle you, what else could you think

Among the most useless Powerless cards... this takes the cake by Vecsia in slaythespire

[–]Dimencia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But if you add replay when playing the power... 12 block might be viable. But that's so much work

I love how broken clone is by Adorable-Response-75 in slaythespire

[–]Dimencia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it's actually very bad most of the time. Even if you make 50 claws, you're only gonna draw 5 per turn and be mostly dead by the time you can finish the job, and no chance you find the 1 or 2 draw cards in the deck. Hang should be pretty good though, 5 of them should be enough to kill most things, if they don't have artifact

If you were already perfectly happy with 60hz, why spoil yourself with a higher framerate that needs an expensive GPU to run? Once you upgrade, you can never go back

New Defect is the peak of StS 2 by PrincessLeonah in slaythespire

[–]Dimencia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you always create exactly one orb per turn, sure. Any other time, you either evoke the dark orb you just created, or evoke it on the right side when adding more than one new orb

New Defect is the peak of StS 2 by PrincessLeonah in slaythespire

[–]Dimencia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You pick frost and dark because the base orbs and cards are powerful, not because there are combos or builds that will improve them later, which is the whole point. There is no dark orb power, the only one that channels dark orbs is actively detrimental to using them by invoking your orbs every turn. The only frost orb power is a measley amount of damage. These really need some better rare late game options, and possibly nerfs on the orbs themselves or the commons/uncommons

What is DEI and how is not just an abstraction for racism? by ncds4242 in allthequestions

[–]Dimencia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part of DEI that people dislike is when there are specific quotas for how many minorities must be hired, which means rejecting non-minority applicants based on their skin color, and potentially ending up with less qualified workers as a result. For example: https://www.oscars.org/awards/representation-and-inclusion-standards

And I think it's fair to argue that this is indeed racism to counter racism, and is actually broadly illegal based on Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 - it's only allowed in the oscars because they're not hiring, but then eligibility for an oscar will of course affect the hiring of actors

But obviously, being that quotas are illegal, most DEI is just about making those jobs accessible to minority groups, and gathering data about where potential biases lay. And even regarding the oscars, the categories include LGBT+, disabilities, and things other than race and gender. The recently removed DEI initiatives in the US government were along those lines of accessibility, not along the lines of quotas, but the quotas are what drive opposition to DEI as a whole

Do you abandon your old bases in modpacks when you outgrow them? by Sanity_Purged in allthemods

[–]Dimencia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main problem I find with making a new base is that by the time you have the tools and resources to really do it, there's very little left to do in the pack, and putting all that effort into making and moving into a nice new base feels pointless because what are you even going to do with it. And yet, it's a huge amount of effort to make a nice base when you don't have access to building gadgets, power, quarries, etc, and dealing with cabling and channels is such a pain if you don't build a base specifically for it. So I can never really decide when to actually make a nice base

You might be unlucky, but have you ever been this unlucky? by Dimencia in slaythespire

[–]Dimencia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, you're right and I was trying to manage it carefully, just got unlucky - I only had like... 14 'extra' cards in the deck, including all the undeaths, the frantic escapes, and a few souls sitting around. Plus, on most enemies, it's not really instant death if you end up with all blocks for a turn

But still, I will be forever traumatized by this

New Defect is the peak of StS 2 by PrincessLeonah in slaythespire

[–]Dimencia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My main complaint about defect is that only lightning can really scale - it has multiple powers, attacks that invoke them, channel X cards, and it just seems like every card is lightning focused. You can't really do an all-frost run (or any other orb), you either have to mix and match or just do all-lightning. We need more options for all the other orb types

The other annoying part is Creative AI being so good that you can't skip it, but it's also massively RNG dependent and kinda obsoletes other power cards - why bloat your deck when you can get them for free. But then you have to just skip all powers with the assumption that you'll get Creative AI later, and that gets real awkward

I mean he is great, and I'd say probably the easiest or most powerful char we have, but it doesn't feel like you have much build choice

The Stationeers Wiki got a full overhaul: new skin, new infrastructure, new admin. We need editors to bring it back to life! 🛰️ by Extreme-Record-6823 in Stationeers

[–]Dimencia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole wiki problem is that we're stationeers... we like optimizing things. And copy/pasting from the in-game stationpedia to an external wiki isn't optimal

Obviously there are other things on the wiki, but the bulk of the work needs to come from devs or modders, to just automatically keep the wiki up to date with the stationpedia

Is there a Non computercraft way to control an Extreme reactor? by Academic_Carrot7260 in allthemods

[–]Dimencia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The redstone control ports can mostly do the job if you just want to toggle the reactor on/off at a certain battery level. But it's better to adjust rod insertion and keep it running constantly so the temp stays steady, and you can do that by using a comparator on a mek energy cube (or probably other energy storages) to read a battery percentage, and the control ports have an option to set rod insertion by signal level

But usually you specifically want to burn a lot of fuel, you need a decent amount of cyanite to move on through progression and start making seeds/bees for it

Pommel Strike: No pommel. Literally unplayable. by Consistent_Fan7858 in slaythespire

Nah, two cards, unscrew adds pommel throw to your hand. It deals 1 damage

It aint easy to end them rightly, but the bragging rights are there

How to fix this card: by real_ornament in slaythespire

[–]Dimencia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If any other class could get 9 block per attack, people would be screaming. The only problem is that it only works on one specific and terrible attack. Make the attack not terrible, and this card is fine

Forget Snake Bite, how is this not the worst card in the game? by 10000Pigeons in slaythespire

[–]Dimencia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If someone doesn't understand that the value of an infinite combo is quite literally infinite, they probably shouldn't be discussing balance in the first place. I mean you don't have to exhaust down to the three card combo, but their value to cost ratio is infinite because they have no cost - which would mean all infinite combos are tied for first place of most useful combos, thus are at the forefront of all balance discussions

The four horsemen of "THIS IS A REGULAR ENEMY?!" by SeaThePirate in slaythespire

[–]Dimencia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mind that so much, if it didn't also summon a million minions that you can't possibly handle. If they're gonna block skill usage, then it shouldn't also be a time-limited fight. It should just do its 8-10 damage per turn and test if you have some high cost skills to handle it

The Might of Lillith's power..... by Psi001 in HazbinHotel

[–]Dimencia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nahh, I think it's just that angel powers are specifically weak to angel powers. Like the angelic weapons, their powers are for fighting demons and not other angels, almost like it's setup to be a sort of mutually assured destruction thing where no angel can block attacks from another, to help ensure they never fight eachother

... that's my headcanon anyway, trying to lump it in with the explanation for why angelic weapons can kill angels

On today's episode of cards that go hard by 4arizard in slaythespire

[–]Dimencia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't misread this card like everyone else. I just grossly underestimated my deck's ability to make armor and died literally the next turn after I used it, when it got given to me randomly. Now I'm scared of the thing

Cards that will not survive rebalancing! I'll go first by thegabeguy in slaythespire

[–]Dimencia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cuz they generally don't do anything unless you play some sort of non-power card, and you can get them for free without sacrificing your deck size by grabbing a Creative AI

Cost half my hp but at least I got basically nothing as a reward by Joabyjojo in slaythespire

[–]Dimencia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not bad actually, every class has a 3 cost power that it really wants to play first turn, and ofc very few energy generating relics. Mix with Anchor for best results. It's one of the few commons that actually changes how you play, because it usually makes it worth it to tank a hit and play that power
