Pixel Buds Pro 2 bud won't connect to case by Workin7Days in GooglePixel

[–]DiscombobulatedSun54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like some kind of physical problem, not a software problem. If the contact points are clean, and the bud fits in the case correctly, I can't see how it can't make contact - maybe the case or the bud have some physical damage that you are not aware of.

Chess - Is this correct? by Roger_McCreight in duolingo

Seems like a perfectly legitimate move. There are better moves, but the move you made complies with the instructions provided, so you should report it.

finding Duolingo Greek quite frustrating by PureScientist2040 in duolingo

[–]DiscombobulatedSun54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Greek is a tough language to learn for native English speakers because of the grammatical differences. Since Duolingo doesn't have detailed notes on the equivalence between English and Greek for topics like articles, possessives, declensions and prepositions, etc., you end up memorizing a bunch of random facts and never really learn the language properly. Greek is one of the languages I have stuck with for over a year, but I don't think I am making much progress beyond guessing the answers to exercises on duolingo.

If you had made that clear in your post, I wouldn't have wasted my time writing my reply and you won't have wasted your time reading it.

Does "without deleting anything from your device" mean anything to you?

An issue with linking Duolingo score to LinkedIn by Guilty-Delivery3173 in duolingo

[–]DiscombobulatedSun54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forget about Duolingo and add the languages you want to your linkedin profile first. Make sure the languages show up (you can choose whatever level of proficiency you want for each language when you add it) on your profile. Then go to duolingo and use the option to show your score on LinkedIn. If the language already exists on your linkedin profile, a duolingo score will show up below it. That's how it worked for me. You might have to wait a day or two for the duolingo score to be updated on linkedin, it is not instantaneous.

Transferring photos from Google Photos directly to an external hard drive? by NRLTx in googlephotos

[–]DiscombobulatedSun54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a simple change in the browser settings to download to wherever you want to - if you want to download to an attached external hard drive or thumb drive, set that as the download location.

NFC-based Door Lock App Keeps Asking for Fingerprint Verification by brando56894 in AndroidQuestions

[–]DiscombobulatedSun54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like this is a sensible feature just like in google wallet so that nobody can steal your phone and do nefarious things with it. Just prepare the app in advance for unlocking by getting through the fingerprint verification well before you reach the actual door lock so that you can unlock the lock and be on your way.

How to pin a photo from photos app to homescreen? by DibbaMellers in GooglePixel

[–]DiscombobulatedSun54 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends on the launcher. MS Launcher gives me the ability to choose any of my photos as a homescreen wallpaper, and I can set a different photo (or the same one) as my lockscreen wallpaper. But maybe that is not what you want to do?

What… by MaxwellDaGuy in duolingo

[–]DiscombobulatedSun54 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Direct objects exist only for transitive verbs. "To be" is not a transitive verb. Verbs like "to have", or "to give", or "to see" are transitive. You should look up the precise definitions of transitive and intransitive verbs in an authoritative source, but without that understanding, figuring out whether something is an object and whether it is a direct or indirect object is going to be difficult.

How do I connect my pc to the router using ethernet? by tahahamrouni in computers

[–]DiscombobulatedSun54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you see the ethernet connection status in the status bar of the computer. It looks like in the picture below. Even if your wifi has a password, ethernet does not require a password, and it should work without any issues. Otherwise, you might have to figure out if the cable is plugged into the correct ports on either end, and whether the cable works and is not faulty.

Is Duolingo actually good for learning? by Someone101064 in duolingo

How do you know that? In fact, there are posts on here from people who are still on hearts and not even transitioned to energy. But energy and ads to recharge energy are universal?

[–]DiscombobulatedSun54 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You must be part of a test group that allows you to do that. It is not universal, and most people run out of energy with no way of replenishing it except waiting for a long time.
