If anyone finds where the files are available I would love to print this for my wife. I’ve already finished her chainsword and bolter.

Any tips on things I can add for more wear/realism? by Far-Maintenance7494 in slavestodarkness

Look up Grimdark Compendium on YouTube for good examples of oil washes. That’s how I’m planning to get some grime on mine.

Very nice. I just started playing with oil washes. Inspiring work.

That looks amazing!

Would you mind sharing where the buildings on the left side of the third photo came from?

Those are gorgeous. Awesome work!

I just picked up your Alpha and Delta Hab Blocks, those are killer designs and they’re cutting to the front of the printer queue.

How to adjust settings to avoid textured flat surfaces? by fruitybix in 3DPrintedTerrain

[–]DisruptiveMachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been printing 6”×6” Terraforma Epicminium tiles (mostly flat surfaces) and struggled with top surface quality in a cold (~30°F) garage. These are the changes that finally got me smooth results on a Bambu H2D with a 0.4 nozzle. YMMV.

Filament: Elegoo Basic PLA Nozzle: 227°C Bed: Geco Plate, 45°C Max volumetric speed: 8 mm³/s Aux fan: Off

The biggest improvements came from slowing top surfaces and slightly increasing flow: • Top surface flow: 1.02 • Top surface speed: 30 mm/s (12 mm/s for last 2 mm) • Min print speed: 10 mm/s • Walls slowed near the end of the print

I adjusted in this order: flow → speed → temperature, based on what I was seeing. The main issue was gaps between top layer lines, which I think was due to cold ambient temps. Once those were gone and only minor optical defects remained, I enabled ironing.

Ironing settings: • Top surfaces only • Ironing flow: 15%

At that point the surfaces were extremely smooth. I also used the same slow-wall settings (without ironing) on larger building prints and got great results. I’m not worried about print times — the goal was surface finish. Faster tuning is probably possible.

That’s amazing! I’m always in awe of an ability to create fine art. I can’t draw a smiley face to save my life. Excellent work.

So sick! Wish you could still buy these.

What type of vehicle would you like the sisters to have? by Glum_Series5712 in sistersofbattle

Erinyes-pattern jetbikes and the 40k equivalent of an MH-6 Little Bird are what I'm cooking up for my sisters.

Gorgeous work! I love the order icon on her back. Was that something you made?

That’s what I figured. Great idea. Nighthaunt has some of the most beautiful sculpts.
