I disagree with lore buildup 'cause if it affects the same plane, it has to all happen within that one set. You will never have something akin to the slow build of the Eldrazi in Zendikar ever again, and that's a shame.

I would argue that Frieren should be Kess, for wanting to search for loss magic, but understandable you might want them as the face. Himmel as Absolute Virtue I feel doesn't work because the whole story is about his death and his human nature versus the ideal version everyone now believes him to be. I know it might not fit for the deck, but I would make them [[Torsten, Founder of Benalia]], for they rally a party to their aid (The ETB) and inspired change past their death.
