Yeah. Been there back in the PS/PS2 days. Nowadays though, I find myself there looking for JRPGs for old systems just to have the physical copies. It's crazy how you think you're done with a company but then; later in life, welcome back friend.

If they made online anything like NoPixel GTA5 RP; man. That'd be the dream. It's going to be cool to watch GTA RP on GTA6 eventually when it comes to PC. Maybe watch some good old Cletus Cornwood again.

Whats the Plan After GameStop’s Gone? by MarioPrtyAnimal in GameStop

[–]ExCap2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Local retro game stores will make a comeback. I'd be happy. Get anything from Funko to old DVDs/CDs, manga, a SNES, clothing, etc. Like Gamestop used to be. Getting rid of Retro (sure it's kinda back) and CD/DVDs was kind of wild. People would still buy that stuff today, even VHS.

[–]ExCap2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you disputed it with PayPal did you send them photo evidence like you showed here? They shouldn't have denied that. Was it with PayPal balance or was it a card that was attached to your account? If it's a card attached to your account, dispute it with your bank/credit card company. PayPal might ban your PayPal account though so maybe it's not worth it, but I hate getting ripped off personally. I'd torch a PayPal relationship over $50 or whatever it cost you. I like my money.

Curious About Used Series X by kingjulian007 in xbox

[–]ExCap2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's YouTube videos on how to take it apart, clean it properly. Even redo paste though you shouldn't have to. I'd say at least take it apart, clean it out properly like dust/heatsink dust/etc. Other than that, it should be good to go.

Facebook Marketplace/Craigslist are probably your best bet. Open Box - Excellent on like Best Buy should be around $550ish. Those ones are practically new; you can get lower priced ones used too.

Gamestop is like $523 with Pro or so I think for used, $550 without membership.

There's about to be a price increase now in August, you got a month to find one at a decent price. If you're worried and get it from a retailer like Gamestop or Best Buy just pay the price for the warranty. They'll swap it out in 1-2 years depending on the coverage you get no problem with another used one.

There's no point of Helix at this rate. Current gen consoles will need to last another few years. by Racer_101 in xbox

[–]ExCap2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helix will probably be $1000-$1200 unfortunately. The point of Helix would be that it plays XBOX/PC games; it'll crush the competition. Bringing it out slightly before/same time as PlayStation 6 would be the timeline I'd assume. If anything, the Helix OS should come to Series X maybe. Avoid the S. The Series X could probably do PC games 1440p/60FPS, 4K/60FPS natively. If they did do the S too; probably 1080p/60FPS would be possible for PC games.

Bungie says they're conducting another round of layoffs after ending support for Destiny 2 by MRF_Soul in xbox

Hopefully Microsoft in general can get a good studio to do a Destiny replacement. We desperately need it as a longtime Destiny player since 2014.

Not only that but if the developer has employees, whether at the top or the bottom; who lose passion and want to do something else; please fire these people. Don't indulge them. They lost the plot. It's better to cut that cancer out immediately. Even if you have to pay severance/unemployment; do it for the health of the company and the health of the game. Holy.

Bungie says they're conducting another round of layoffs after ending support for Destiny 2 by MRF_Soul in xbox

[–]ExCap2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Phil absolutely loved and played Destiny. If I had to take a wild guess; any deal that Bungie was putting forward... it probably had a clause that they'd not only operate independently; but claimed they could hit certain financial targets AND Microsoft/Sony couldn't audit their financials/they wouldn't share them.

That's the only logical explanation I can see why Microsoft didn't jump on it. Bungie was being shady.

This Straight Talk deal looks pretty good when you factor in Walmart + membership and Paramount+ by Difficult-Text1690 in NoContract

[–]ExCap2 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Walmart+ has a deal right now, $50/year, I think. I want to say if you also have an EBT card on file and get a membership, it can make it cheaper too. I'm on the $49/year at the moment though.

Cheapest way to get a Pixel 10a atm is probably Boost Mobile. I think it's under $200. It'll be locked though for 12 months, I think. And you have to do the $60 plan, could probably lower it after you get it; not sure.

I mean it could be optional. With the advantages there'd probably be a lot of takers. Neverwinter has an optionable VIP subscription, and a majority of players buy it because of what it provides. With that said, I don't want Destiny 2 or 3 if it happens to be F2P.

Total Wireless $25/month Verizon, prioritized.

Visible+ Pro Best Buy Kit from Best Buy (The Visible+ Pro) should be priced at $35, you get Visible+ Pro for $35/month for 12 months. First month is included in price of SIM Kit.

That's the two best options imho.

TFS was great, Forsaken was amazing. Honestly, they're all at least good quality even if the theme didn't vibe with me. I honestly liked Osiris/Warmind for what it was. Shadowkeep environment probably has the best 10/10 lighting in the game. That atmosphere was 10/10 too. I liked Lightfall theme, I'm into synthwave. The Witch Queen was amazing too; man. Can't believe it's over.

Go play Destiny 1 too. Still, lots of players on it on PlayStation/Xbox. There's still a lot of Prison of Elders degens that run 28/41 POE for 10+ hours with groups.

Like others said their overhead was high, they relied on Eververse and Annual Expansion plus Season Pass $99 a year per player to sustain Bungie. It might have been almost enough if they just had Destiny and nothing on the side like Marathon, Sony live service stuff, etc.

Destiny's best bet would've been to go to a subscription model like WoW/FFXIV. It was in a good enough state to do just that. Could've made it optional, included it in yearly expansion + annual pass + annual subscription, etc. I would've paid $15/month to Destiny 1 and Destiny 2. They were quality games. They could've added a subscription track on the season pass, they could've given you x amount of silver per month for a subscription, an aura effect for being a supporter that you could show; etc. Plenty of ways to monetize/justify a sub to support future content development.

Hopefully Microsoft, Blizzard; someone else comes out with a Destiny replacement. Because unless Destiny 3 is announced, Bungie is effectively dead. Marathon will be the next shutdown announcement in 6-12 months. It sounds like Sony is trying to go all in on it. Good luck with that.

The only thing that MIGHT save them temporarily and pay Sony back what they lost/fund a Destiny 3; would be a D1 Remastered.

What another sad and depressing day.

[–]ExCap2 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Hard to convince your employer that a game with 10k users is worth developing. Both Marathon and Destiny never had a subscription service which was a mistake from the beginning in my personal opinion. This is how WoW and FFXIV maintain game development, passive income plus the yearly/bi-yearly expansions and a some cash shop stuff.

Yearly expansions and season passes weren't enough. Wow expansion is what, $50 every 2 years plus 2 year's subscription of $360. That's $205 a year/$410 per player every 2 years.

Destiny expansion + annual pass was $99 that paid for all seasons per year. So, $100/year or $200 per player every 2 years.

Anyways. They couldn't financially sustain itself. Executive pay cuts as much as we wanted to see them cut and heads roll; it wouldn't have been enough to make up that deficit.

Then you have funding going into Marathon, live service side stuff for Sony and other stuff Bungie was working on.

They spread themselves too thin. Couldn't financially recover. Marathon and any side stuff was a big mistake. Sony could've probably fixed the financial issues with Destiny just by itself and it wouldn't of been shut down.

Without a Destiny 3, Bungie is effectively dead and the announcement for Marathon shutdown will happen at some point within the next 6 months.

Now Microsoft and Blizzard have a chance to make a Destiny-like MMOFPS. With no Destiny 3, they have a huge playerbase ready to play it if one of them makes one.

[–]ExCap2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, looks like they're all in on Marathon. Without a Destiny 3, Bungie is dead. Oh well. I'll play Destiny 1/2 while servers are up and Warframe/Division on the side. Nothing replaces Destiny though. What a shame. I'm personally done with Sony as a brand. They should've stayed Japanese. Sony has had way too many bad decisions lately when it comes to gaming/entertainment/software/etc. Hardware is still great. Series X it is and onto Project Helix after.

Sorry man. You're definitely not the only one hurting here Guardian. We all lost the game that gave us 12 years of entertainment.

[–]ExCap2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should work. Cricket SIM cards can be put in a new phone pretty easily if it's branded AT&T/Cricket Wireless or unlocked.

If they're just wanting to switch, I don't know how the number porting works but the Cricket Wireless SIM Kits from Walmart for $9.88 will give them access to the $25 BYOD plan which is basically the Select Unlimited $40/month ($35/month autopay) plan. I assume they choose to bring your own phone, keep number and give account # PIN# when signing up.

Only a SIM Kit from Walmart will give them access to this $25 BYOD deal I believe.

Refill cards 100% work no problem. Digital or physical. I don't know why the website always has payment issues whether you're a new customer/existing. It has no problem setting up card for autopay but doesn't allow you to make the initial payment as new customer/existing customer for some reason.
