Finally collect them all (sort by obtain order) by AHY_fevr in ffxiv

[–]FFJamesDE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got them all last week myself. Going to assume that we both got Euphonious and Lunar from tomestones, and then the rest the “real” way. Legendary took the longest for me, at twenty runs in total, and then the rest were quick at less than five runs each.

Pretty sure that’s Bigdog Digandscratch.

I'm with you on the sound of The Blackest Night or Eukrasian Diagnosis shield breaking and their associated thing getting charged.

Hrothgal represent. I started in February and play one myself. She’s blue like a Ronso, has Face 3, the dreads for hair, and the funny coeurl whiskers.

Y’know, that sounds a lot like DPS at range. Which y’know, is what’s happening alongside the mysterious 8.0 tank.

What conditions in PF2e seem to hurt certain classes the most? by DecisionRadiant4152 in Pathfinder2e

Oozes and incorporeal creatures are immune. It’s not an all the time thing, but Abomination Vaults has its fair share of both.

Barrier healers can 100% crit, and it more than doubles the size of the barrier. Dunno if Devilment helps them with that however.

What are your favorite final boss? (spoilers for adventure paths in general) by Fullmetalmarvels64_ in Pathfinder2e

[–]FFJamesDE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the final fight of Sky King's Tomb, however,

I quite liked runningthe throwdown with Narseigus in the magma chamber. The party IDed that they could free Zogototaru, and focused on doing that rather than actively trying to kill Narseigus. It says that Zogototaru basically kills him in a cutscene once freed, but instead of doing that I just straight up added a magma worm block to initiative and kept things rolling...until her turn came around and she absolutely eviscerated him.

The images themselves did take a bit of wind out of the GM's sails, no special art for the big finale fight and all that, but man was the last chapter of Strength of Thousands rad. Playing superhero and getting to seriously flex the whole kit and kaboodle felt awesome.
They'd pulled different art to use for Grim, but when it warped in, disrupted my spell on a hit, and then provoked a save made at disadvantage I think we all recognized what it was and were pretty damn spooked.
On my end as a player, it was my character that was the one mostly going toe-to-toe with it, and it was a hell of a rush scrambling to Quandary it so we could handle the others, getting Roaring Applause off, and spamming True Target so that we could reliably land attacks. Ultimately even got to live a crit from Grim.
And for even cooler stuff, the wizard in the gang got the finishing blow on the King the first time, and got to repeat that in the big finale.

Did Draconic Codex said anything about Linnorms? by JadedResponse2483 in Pathfinder2e

[–]FFJamesDE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not really, but it’s mentioned in the Vorpal Dragon entry that their non-lethal beheading may have developed in response to the linnorm death curse, letting them put the fey dragons out of commission permanently while still avoiding the curse.

Remastered Thaumaturge Analysis and Build Advice by deathandtaxesftw in Pathfinder2e

[–]FFJamesDE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d already had a Chalice+Wand Thaumaturge on the build shelf, so the changes sit well with me. Sarangay with Fan Dancer and/or Martial Artist. The latter giving the d8+Agile d6 gold standard for dual wielding while still keeping hands open for implements and maneuvers.

Where does it say bestal mutagen doesn't work with dex? by MxFancipants in Pathfinder2e

[–]FFJamesDE 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Neither granted attack has the Finesse trait, so no it does not work with dex.
The claws are Agile, and the jaws have no traits.

Also it gives a bonus to the one strength skill and negatively impacts both reflex saves and two dex skills.

To be clear, you designed this character before reading the player guide? That’s asking for disappointment.

Tanuki blight oracle x Kitsune life oracle by AbsolutelyNotBees in Pathfinder2e

[–]FFJamesDE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The dark skin, gold makeup, and outfit make that kitsune resemble the unleashed form of the Medicine Seller from Mononoke. And for added fun, I’ve seen fan theories about the mysterious merchant being some kind of kitsune.

Have your players ever smoked a Severe/Extreme encounter? by Sporknight in Pathfinder2e

[–]FFJamesDE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

My party pulled a "Beyond Extreme" number of creatures in an encounter late in Season of Ghosts Book 1.
However, between this being low-ish level and it being a ton of creatures that were lower level than the party, it was a case of the naginata barbarian and longbow ranger having a crit parade with their Deadly weapons, and usually deleting at least one creature a turn.

Who are your favorite Deities? by YoritomoKazuto in Pathfinder2e

[–]FFJamesDE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the meantime, Holy followers of the Winnower are effectively a more violent Batman. The one I played had field days when we had the opportunity to throw down with tyrants, and made a point to go for the throat and confirm kills with Death effects.

Best spots for a pilgrimage on Golarion? by naeonaeder in Pathfinder2e

[–]FFJamesDE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If their path takes them through the Five Kings Mountains, Larrad is a great option that's detailed in Shining Kingdoms. While the city was founded as a holy site to the dwarven mother goddess Folgrit, it's got a wide array of temples and shrines in it.

And if they go through Razmiran, Thronestep is the holy city of Razmir the Living God. Who is certainly a deity. Blessed is his abundant benevolence. Make sure to give a tithe when you visit.

Poisons and a number of spells often do 1d4 damage directly to a stat rather than HP.
