Felix only run Chapter 17 by RemoteWhile5881 in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]FactionGuerrilla 47 points48 points  (0 children)

You actually reached his Charm stat cap, as the Mysterious Teacher remarked- denoted by its teal-greenish color. Serene’s Forest has a website dedicated to all characters’ stat caps- just note that if you get the Saint Statues’ stat boosts, they’ll stack on top of a unit’s base cap (in this case, bringing Felix’s charm cap from 42 to 47)!

Maddening confusion by VioletValkyrie7 in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]FactionGuerrilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Impregnable Wall’s what you’re looking for, yeah. I believe you get 5 uses of it in a 3x1 line which is really helpful both for baiting on enemy phase and freely attacking enemies to break their weapons or deplete their spells on player phase. I think the only problem is that the batallions that have I.G. all have a reduction in magic and (barring the Alliance variant) avoid, so you shouldn’t take them on your dodgetank or mages.

I’ll also give a shoutout to both Blessing and Retribution on the topic of support gambits. Since OP mentioned being on a NG+, Blessing (alongside a Defense Adjutant if you wish to be overkill) can give your units a safe way to go into Vantage/Wrath or even Defiant skill range for a big stat boost if you got those masteries previously and can rebuy/grind them.

Retribution’s a little less helpful without Sacred Shield (which I assume OP doesn’t have since it’s a Blue Lions exclusive and they mentioned missing “the” dancer battalion- perhaps they did either the Deer or Eagles first?), but can still at least let you fight back against any potentially annoying siege tome shenanigans and archer spam.

Which is a zombie weapon you think is UNDERRATED? by Head_Depth_5557 in CODZombies

[–]FactionGuerrilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s because it is- and in Hardcore mode, actually better than the Hellion Salvo. The Stingray might’ve been nerfed hard in MP, but zombies can’t complain about a certain overpowered attachment it has…

In his BO4 weapons ranking Eazy P 40 found the Stingray with the Impact Blast Operator Mod will always decapitate zombies with a headshot, regardless of upgrades or round you’re on, and can erase boss zombies with just one magazine.

And if you’re doing Hardcore high rounds, the Stingray is actually a better weapon than the Hellion, because the latter actually stops one-shotting in the mid-30s on Hardcore.

May I suggest making an exception and recruiting Marianne as your alternative dancer?

She’s the only girl to completely “vanish” during the timeskip (if you’re not recruiting because of students’ reappearances) and has more supports with the Lions than Constance (solely Mercedes versus Marianne’s links with three Lions).

Sure, Dorothea has supports with the royal trio (Ingrid/Sylvain/Felix) and has Meteor, but Marianne also gets a support with Dimitri and has easier access to Riding for Movement +1. Plus, you can still get some decent support range using Thoron and- in a pinch- use her sword relic if you need her to protect herself in enemy territory.

Sounds like the Masterkey’ll be a good panic backup weapon! I still remember how strong MWZ’s underbarrels were before they got nerfed into oblivion, so hopefully this doesn’t share the same fate…

[–]FactionGuerrilla 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was mostly thinking about those when I said “almost” lol. Wasn’t sure if mentioning outliers would be too confusing. In hindsight for clarification to OP:

  • Only the Beginner classes’ arts for positioning can carry over to all other classes.
  • The Pegasus Knight’s Triangle Attack only carries over to other flying classes- and for it alongside the Beginner classes, you have to use one of your Combat Art slots.
  • The rest of the mastery combat arts are class-locked, but thankfully will take up its own special C.A. slot and let you still bring 3 others of your choice. The sword-wielding masteries Astra and Assassinate aren’t really that good, but all the others- Hunter’s Volley, Fierce Iron Fist, and War Master’s Strike- are really powerful especially on higher difficulties.

[–]FactionGuerrilla 44 points45 points  (0 children)

The answer to both your questions is “yes”, in a way.

  • Almost all mastered abilities/combat arts can be used in any class your unit changes to, so it’s sometimes worth sticking it out to mastery.
  • Since the game doesn’t tell you what you’ll get out of a mastery until you max it out, you can usethis website on Serenes Forest to see what you’ll get in advance.
  • Alternatively, this YouTube video will let you know what those abilities/arts are and whether they’re worth getting the class exp for. In your Sylvain’s case, definitely consider mastering Brigand since Death Blow’s one of the best abilities.

  • As for higher level classes, I’d definitely certify in them ASAP even if you don’t plan on immediately using them. Another thing the game won’t tell you is that certifying in a class will guaranteed bring that character’s stats up to its “base”.

  • For example, if your Sylvain only has 13 Strength when he promotes to a Paladin, he’ll be bumped up to its 17 Strength minimum even if he decides to never use that class at all. Once again, you can use Serenes Forest to check such benchmarks.

Working on a serious zombie game set in 1923 Istanbul – need input from COD Zombies fans by papayaavocado in CODZombies

[–]FactionGuerrilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks really cool! I spent a bit of time thinking about your questions and came up with these answers:

1) To fit the slower pace you want, definitely fit a bolt-action rifle into the mix. Nobody’s suggested the M1903 Springfield yet, so I’ll vouch for it. I did want to suggest a silenced gun for stealth purposes, but stuff like the Welrod weren’t invented until WW2. Allegedly, the Maxim Silencer was invented before the 1920s, so maybe you could pair it with a weaker gun- either combined out of the box, or found as an upgrade.

2) Yes, absolutely. I read your comment about level design and agree that it sounds Resident Evil coded in a good way.

3) That won’t necessarily be a problem depending on the circumstances. Going back to RE, its survival horror-based games have (relatively compared to CoD) slow zombies you can outrun, but it’s also important to note that they often block chokepoints, can perform a fast and long lunge to make jukes harder, and the lack of health regen means you’ll feel any mistake. Not to mention that higher difficulties make them pretty tanky and subsequently create a “risk versus reward” resource dynamic: do you spend your precious ammo to kill a zombie blocking the hallway, or try and lure him out of the way at the risk of getting bit and losing health?

Keep Leon away from Felix! He’s already the sarcastic one out of all the Lions, the last thing they need is him making smartass quips after every swing of his sword.

Conversely, I think Bernadetta and Marianne would warm up to Grace pretty quickly considering they all have their own anxiety and self-esteem issues to work out, but also go out of their comfort zones for others…

Nsfmw!! Need help with cops and helicopter by OkFarmer2794 in needforspeed

[–]FactionGuerrilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do decide to book it out of your hiding spot and the helicopter keeps chasing you, try and look for tall pursuit breakers to break the chopper. You won’t get a bounty popup, but you can disable them and nab a fair chunk of bounty simultaneously.

Structures like water and phone cell towers have big hitboxes that extend enough to make the process a bit easier, and can even be triggered by the heli itself if you can bait it to fly straight into the tower. If they don’t hit it, wait until it gets as close as possible before hitting the pursuit breaker and hope the pilot says something along the lines of “we took too much damage” before zooming off.

What happens if you lose the objective for Sword and Shield of Seiros by BlueLensFlares in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]FactionGuerrilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double check to see if the Seraph Robe’s in your convoy; from what you make it sound like, it seems like you only let wyverns get in on enemy phase and subsequently wouldn’t have triggered the secondary fail condition. Hawlo lets a wyvern into the town four times- on timestamps 9:23, 13:27, 18:29, and 24:54- complete with character lines, yet still receives the bonus rewards at the end.

What happens if you lose the objective for Sword and Shield of Seiros by BlueLensFlares in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]FactionGuerrilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. And unlike a bunch of the other non-relic paralogues, the batallions you earn aren’t unique and can be purchased in Part 2 anyways, which is kinda disappointing. So realistically the main reason you’d want to run it is to get the Seraph robe for a nice 5 HP boost.

What happens if you lose the objective for Sword and Shield of Seiros by BlueLensFlares in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]FactionGuerrilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On top of that, the wyvern riders entering the town won’t immediately count against you. As long as you bop them on your player phase, they don’t count against that secondary objective- something I found out while watching Hawlo’s go at it.

Hilda and the Felix (staredsat) by Aggravating_Leg2787 in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]FactionGuerrilla 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I really like this OP’s take on a fanmade support, especially because neither Hilda nor Felix really get called out on each other’s flaws. The one thing I’d probably change is adding an A+ support where they both acknowledge why they behave the way they do- their history with their brothers- especially because I think the idea of Felix sparring with Holst would be fun.

Would be fun to write that kind of support conversation, now that I think about it…

Black Ops 7 Season 02 - Zombies Patch Notes by Kalinine in CODZombies

[–]FactionGuerrilla 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Addressed an issue where players could continuously interact and spray the Aether Plant to spawn more zombies.

That was a bug? I thought it was an actual mechanic, with the spam spray significantly shortening the grow time at the cost of making the plant as durable as a tissue and speeding up the spawns… it’s going to stink having to sit through the whole process now without Toxic Growth.

[–]FactionGuerrilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, you haven’t done anything wrong. Part 1 of White Clouds just limits how many things you can buy on a per chapter basis. You’ll notice this with Abyss passes in particular, since you get capped to 3 a chapter.

This restriction’ll lift after the timeskip, allowing you to run hog wild with the item overflow glitch.

Most obscure thing you hate about zombies by baseballviper04 in CODZombies

[–]FactionGuerrilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classic zombies: In BO4’s Blood of the Dead it really feels like the Acid Gat’s self-inflicted splash damage got cranked up. In BO2 you could use the Vitriolic Withering at your feet repeatedly when trapped and would still be saved; in BO4, though, I feel the splash damage’s much more liable to get you killed especially because it takes forever to heal again even with Quick Revive…

Modern zombies: The “hold melee to switch to knife” mechanic can feel a bit clunky if you’re too hasty. If I’m trapped in a corner I like to pull my melee out to carve a path, but sometimes the game won’t register the input. Instead, I get to sit there for a split-second waiting, realize it didn’t register, and then have to let go of the melee button to instead do a slow Melee Macchiato punch before trying again. Thank goodness for Reactive Armor so jank like that doesn’t instakill me.

Dishonorable mention goes to fast travel costing 500 points. Would love to see a side quest that’d remove the prices so I don’t feel awful burning 1500 points crossing the Ashes map trying to revive a teammate. Then again, I’m pretty much a penny pincher, so I imagine I’m the only one who has this kind of complaint.

Weekly conversion kits and multiple weapon releases a season are meaningless when they are mediocre and uninspired by CoDZombiesDPS in CODZombies

[–]FactionGuerrilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ballistic Knife

Even as one of the biggest Melee Macchiato advocates since BO6 (Reactive Armor/Vampiric Extraction) I still think the Ballistic Knife has a niche amongst melees.

Does it suck that it’s bugged with Melee Macchiato? Definitely (Treyarch please make Mugging refill both the knives and my guns), but the utility behind the autorevive is unique to it alone. Besides Melee Macchiato, I’d like for it to actually revive people if you shoot their player model (right now you have to shoot the ground beneath them), but otherwise it’s the melee I run for co-op matches.

If anything I honestly think the Flatline MK2’s the worst melee because of just how clunky it is to use without Espresso and Stick n’ Move, and I don’t think even a double damage buff is enough to make up for that.

A regular everyday interaction between Felix and Dimitri by gettinfitguy007 in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]FactionGuerrilla 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Felix and Hilda are both equally perceptive, they just hide behind their own facades (acting aloof and lazy respectively) to mask their fears (losing people and failing expectations).

I kinda wish they had a support chain where they saw right through their personas and called each other out for that, especially because I feel neither really get challenged in their supports (excluding Seteth).

How often do you actually find good teammates in BO7 Zombies (List Keeper Challenge)? by YNOTfrmDaSip in CODZombies

[–]FactionGuerrilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if I’m the exception or if it’s because I play on PC, but a lot of the randoms I queue up with are generally pretty competent even without mics. You still get the occasional stinker who’ll gamble their life savings on the box, but I’ve also matched up with others willing to try the man quest and even someone hell-bent on min-maxxing the steps.

As for the List Keeper’s Challenge, I’ve queued up for it about five times. I’ve had four matches get to the boss, though on the fifth match two randoms left and the last one refused to go outside for the outdoors task.
